Upside-Down Pizza

1 pound ground beef

3/4 onion...diced

1 small green pepper...chopped (optional)

1 15oz can Tomato sauce

1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

2 Tablespoons flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

DOUGH:

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon cooking oil

Mozzarella cheese slices

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

In a skillet, brown beef with onion and green pepper. Drain. Add tomato sauce, seasoning, salt and flour. Mix together and bring to a boil. Pour into an UNgreased 9 x 13 inch pan. Make dough: Beat eggs, milk, flour, salt and oil until smooth. Allow to set for 1 minute. Place Mozzarella cheese slices over the meat mixture. Pour dough batter over meat mixture. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top. Bake at 350* for 25 - 30 minutes, or until the top is puffy and brown.

This DOES sound good! I love that the dough batter is poured and I don't have to argue w/ a rolling pin!

Sounds yummy! I think I'll give it at try this week....add a salad and BOOM! Dinner's done!

Hi Lilbit! Thank you for posting this recipe-- it looks easy to make and I think it'll be really yummy. I always smile when I see you back on the boards sharing one of your recipes. It's like a long lost friend has popped into town and has come to visit. So pull up a chair and stay as long as you like! If you hang around for a bit, I'll make you some of your Apple Lasagna that I've mastered or if you prefer, I could whip up some of your Peaches and Cream. And do you take your coffee with cream? Sugar? Smiley Surprised) Hope you are doing well!

LBM, tried this & it is a "keeper"! I did crank up the seasonings a little, more onions (can't have too much for us) and only had the mozzarella shredded cheese but it worked out great. thanks for another great recipe..very glad to see you back posting! You have been missed.
