Anyone know if there's a way (besides dumping in garbage) how to get onion flavor out of a stew?

Re: Too MUCH ONION in the stew

If you just finished making it the flavors will meld and become more mild especially if you are the cook it sometimes seems overwhelming.

I don't know... I find that with onion, the flavor only gets stronger. I recently had some spaghetti sauce that I had to toss because the onion flavor became more overwhelming with time and it simply didn't taste good anymore.

I don't know. I know that you can add potato to get rid of salt or cut down on spiciness. It absorbs those flavors and then you throw out the potato or replace it with new potato chunks because the old ones are full of the salt or spice you didn't want. Now idea if it will work with onion, but if you have some it might be worth a try.

I'm one who can't get enough onion, so I haven't tried it.

This works to fix many food problems in soups, stews, etc....

To fix a soup in which too much of one ingredient was added, such as onion, try to remove the excess, add more broth and increase the rest of the ingredients. Fixing a soup with too much onion takes roughly 10 minutes plus cooking time and requires a slotted spoon, broth, boiled potatoes and the other soup ingredients.
