Timber Lodge's Lumber Jack Hash Browns

40  oz.  of frozen shredded hash browns

1/3 cup chopped onion

1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

1 cup monterey jack cheese shredded 

1/2 teas.salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

 

1-[10- 3/4] oz.can of cream of chicken soup

 

1/2 cup melted butter

.Add all ingrdients together and mix in a bowl . Mix gently but thoughly

Pour into a greased 9 by 13 " pan 

Bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 1 hour until golden brown . 

Rotate pan occasionally for enven browning if necessary.

Let stand for 5 minutes   before serving

@twinkies...I just love casseroles. Living alone is a bummer in that instance. Sounds like it would be delicious. Also something some cooked sausage could be added to as well. (I know, I know...I think sausage of any kind must be a favorite of mine).

we make a very similar recipe. we call them NEVAS POTATOES.

i think the only thing different is that we add buttered cornflakes to the top and then sprinkle paprika over them.

 

yes, it is easy to add a protein to them.....ham, sausage, bacon, or even turkey. i think my recipe has sour cream in it also. good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or brunch!

So good, very similar to my Cracker Barrel hashbrown casserole.
