Happy Saturday!  Rain or shine the show will go on and right now it is raining!  I don't think we will see sun but hope rain quits for the bride.  My mother used to say..."rain before 7 quit before 11"....we'll see if that works today.  Wedding is at 2:30.

kittyfan, the nanny cam is a good idea for someone living alone.  If you have independent living that would be important.  I thought the senior homes kept better tabs on residents.  I guess not.  It was different for my mother because she was in assisted living.  They were in and out daily...everyone accounted for at meals, etc.  But, good you are in the independent area and can take care of yourself.

Hope you have good weather for apple picking tomorrow, Tootie.  By the way, I saw yesterday that the Bills had their home opener in new stadium....looked nice.  They won too.🏈..beating my Lions...😟..but, I am glad for your Bills.

Well, on with day.....see you tomorrow with wedding report...then back to Dullsville...😂.

I know assisted living is another level.  I don't mind the camera. I can hear but they can't hear me respond.  I had some expectations when I moved here that were not realized.  And I don't agree with some things but you have to roll with it. But I do value my privacy and resent folks walking in. I do have a doorbell.  I have my issues with the director.  

We finally broke triple digits today.  Now we need rain.

kittyfan, glad your temps dropped some ... we are at that time of the year where our morning temps are in the 50's ... chilly! but will jump back up during the day! ... agree!! walking in on someone is a big NO NO!!

walker, oh yes! the Bills played a good game (sorry about your Lions!) and the fans are very excited about the new stadium ... it looks pretty nice ... as goes with something new like that, a lot of people have complained about $$

The weather should be pretty good for Apple Picking ... high of 66 today!

Good Morning Friends!  ☕️☔️🇺🇸...🍁🍂

Happy Sunday!  Rain, rain go away!  It rained most of yesterday; then overnight we had heavy rain...,and it is still raining!  Get the Ark ready!  But, I don't care....I am doing nothing today!  

The party is over!  💃  Wedding celebrating 🥂 that is....married and onto new adventures for couple.  The ceremony was traditional and very nice.  The reception...WOW....LOUD!!!!  Oh my gosh...things have changed...at least for this couple.  Definitely a party for the young.  Cocktail hour very nice...delicious appetizers.  They had a jazz band playing.  Then into dining room where another DJ Band had the music going...LOUD.  You could not talk or hear anyone.  By now it was after 7:00 so everyone was ready to eat....but...not the plan.  Introductions of wedding party....then cut cake....then couple took first dance and it was a performance...nicely done.  Then groom brought friends together to sing song for bride.  It must have been after 8:00 by the time we started eating.  Meal was very good!  Then, more speeches...best part was bride's brother sang a song...rendition of Elvis...Wise men say only fools rush in...but I can't help falling in love with you...I forgot song title.  He did a great job!  Mom/son dance and father/daughter....they all did special things.  On and on....then rocking, stomping dancing...Mama Mia!  The couple and young people had a ball....and that's what it is about....not old people and slow dancing!  Ha!  My 3A's were a little lost....too young to drink and none of their friends were there.  We had fun with them.

Hello friends ... oh wow walker! it sounds like the wedding was quite the event ... fun, but loud seems to be the norm nowadays ... way different from my time, cutting the cake and the first dances before eating! ... did the father/daughter and mother/son dances seem to start out slow and break out into something else? that seems to be a practice now too! ... sounds like you had a good time though with the 3A's ...

I hope you had fun today, Tootie.  What kind of apples did you pick?  

The dances last night .... mother and son quickly moved into a fast dance.  The father and daughter dance started slow.  Then just as we thought it was over...they both went to a table...put sunglasses on and grabbed inflatable guitars and started dancing and strumming...cute ending with big hug.  Definitely a different type of wedding entertainment at this wedding.  

I guess tossing bouquet and garter are passe'.  None of that....no big deal.  

Lazy ..rainy...day....enjoying it except Bears just lost!

I haven't been to a wedding in a long time. Yes things very different.  I know all were ready to eat!  

Our triple digits returned.  

Brother arrived in town yesterday. Immediately hit the ground running. His DW called me last evening to update me.  I joined church online.  I heard him speak on a matter.  I got a call.  He was in the parking lot with lunch.  It took him forever to get here. He was hardly moving.  He has an issue with his back and has difficulty admitting he can't be Superman.

We ate lunch--i am sure his DW checked in!  I told him I could vouch he did eat. He went through some things and then left.   He called me early evening regarding a matter. He said he had his feet up.  He has some business and plans to come by tomorrow to take care of some items needing attention.  I know he has a doctor's apt but not sure when.  Tuesday my doctor's appointments. As slow as he is moving that will be a struggle dealing with parking garage and maze to get to offices. 

I did some 🧺.  Never ending.

oh no kittyfan, sorry to hear that DB is having back issues, but it sounds like he is still (slowly) going strong ... he may have to give in and slow it down some ... good luck with your appointments this week.

Gee walker, things have really changed with weddings, no bouquet or garter?!! the dances sound really fun too! ... Picking was fun! of course the kids thought it was really cool to go up to the trees and just pick them!! ... we got Macouns, Jonamacs and Cortlands ... this was the first weekend for picking there and it was crowded!! 

It's Moanday Monday!! laundry, among other chores await me!! We'll have a cool 62 degree day ... temps for the week will be in the mid 60's but next week we should warm up a bit (this is your official morning weather ... for my area!) 😄 I've got to get my Fall things out too! Fall starts tomorrow!!

Happy Monday!  Cloudy and Chilly....Fall is here!  Officially tomorrow but feels like it already.  🤗  Less daylight too😟.

kittyfan, enjoy your time with DB. On the go...slower?  I'm sorry to hear about his back problem.  Back aches and tooth aches...🥴...hope he can find help for his back problem.  Miserable....bad enough when mine "talks to me" once in awhile. 

Glad to hear you had a nice apple picking time there, Tootie.  I have not heard of Macouns and Jonamacs. Good for eating, baking or both?  More baking for DH?

I have errands this morning....one being return the back-up dress!  Done!  The End! 👏👏😆

Hello friends ... UB time ... dryer is drying away ...

walker, macoun and jonamac are good for both baking and eating (I'm going by the orchards guidelines) ... I love the macoun for eating ... juicy and sweet!! similar to mcintosh, but sweeter! ... DH will use jonamac and cortland for his pie and apple crisp.

I pulled my Fall decorations up from the basement and out of the shed ... inside is done and I think I'll do the outside ones tomorrow ... it should be a little bit warmer with some sun!
