Good morning

Thought I would pop on while I could.  

I have known people who had shingles and it is very uncomfortable.  I have had the shots.  Got the first round years ago.  Then it was updated and the two shots.  I dislike needles but sometimes it is necessary.

Oh Buddy coming over. I know he will miss his guys if they all go away next year.  

There was an unfortunate incident here. A young football player became ill in practice. He was starflighted but I hear he passed. I often thought the heat and the equipment is not good.  I would hear the band practice at home. I would think poor kids. In the heat and lugging around those instruments.  But I know that is part of it.  I have been watching Little League. Saw a few girls on the guys teams.  At first I thought I was mistaken but she had a ribbon on her hair and they did announce it.  Some of those kids are so large. Only 12 and 13 but look like grown fellas. Others are so tiny.    I know lots of time and $$0bynthe families.  

School starts today for many in the area.  In my day we didn't have AC until I was a senior. Windows open with fans. And we had to wear dresses. Pants were not allowed. I was going through paperwork when I still worked. Came across our dress code allowing us to wear pants. It was written by a retired Colonel I laughed when I found it.  Some of the younger didn't appreciate the hurdles we faced!   

Thinking about the fellas and the lawn issues!,,,

There is a lady here who I think of as Walkers Queen mom.  She is tiny.  Always beautiful dressed in matching pieces. Wears a necklace and earrings.  She does have a fault although she did apologize. It was a weekend. Server s are part time. She felt she was being ignored. He handled it well and she did apologize.  One of the ladies here was a florist.  She did a lovely arrangement. 

Today she turns 99.  There is another lady here who is 102.  I think she was a teacher.  

I saw a FB post saying apples in her area were ready.   Seems early but I know you ladies enjoy your apple picking forays

HI there.....☔️....it has been raining all afternoon....😟.  BUT.....happy news....kittyfan is back!  Good chats today too!

Very sad about student athlete passing away.  I do worry about kids out at practices, etc.  Every once in awhile we hear those stories....unknown medical condition.  But, in high heat changes should be made...when and where to practice.

I never had A/C in school either.  Tough it out!  

Nice remembrance of Queen Mom.  That would be my mom...best dressed but free with her opinions too...ha! 

I read a cute story online yesterday about a couple living in Tennessee.   Married 80 years....he is 101 and she is 100...living in their home with help from children.  Gosh, children must be into their senior years too!  Said they loved having breakfast at McDonald's....ha!  Both appear to be in good health.....lucky.

Looking forward to our annual apple-picking weekend here sometime Sept or Oct.  Might be last ....😢.  After this trip, I am going to make a photo book of all our years going to the same orchard.

Hello friends ... I see I missed chit chatting today ... did my errands and then puttered around the house and was able to sit on the patio ... I love sitting out and want to enjoy it while I can ...

Good to see you back kittyfan ... what a shame about the young athelete that passed away ... kind of hard to practice/play with all that gear on in that hot weather ... DD does Hot Yoga, 107 degrees in the room!! yikes 🥵 ... we had to wear dresses to school too, I went to Catholic School  ... 1st grade through Senior year ... walked 8 blocks to school every day, no buses!! and no A/C ... gee, how did we survive?? 

A photo album through the years of Apple Picking is a good idea, walker ... DIL makes books up about all of their adventures ... (it sounds like the book you made up for your brother or BIL, I think? that just had a birthday) ... we usually do our picking in September ... I got my rocks and some pinecones decoration out for him to see!! 😄 now I have to watch LS, as she is not only our Drama Queen, but she loves to touch EVERYTHING!!

Good morning friends ... kitchen opened ... button pushed!

No kids today ... DIL decided to take the day off, so I guess that means I have to concentrate on doing something beneficial around the house instead of running and playing ... 😄😂

No other news since last night ... it's a cool 63 right now ... A/C off ... windows and doors all opened to bring it all in ... (if only I could keep it) ... temps to go up to 83!!

Happy Friday!  Cloudy morning....hope rain has passed.

I woke up too early .... not feeling 100%...hope it is nothing I picked up this week.  I'll take it easy today.  We are suppose to meet our former neighbor and her sons for pizza tonight.  We always meet once a year and already rescheduled once.

Tootie, you get a day off....enjoy it....maybe more time on patio?

Hi there......well, feeling ok so maybe something I ate yesterday did not agree with me......like a half box of Wheat Thins...😂!  I am so addicted to them lately.  I grab a few for a snack and can't stop eating them! Ha!  🤷‍♀️ Just feeling tired now since I woke up so early.  I remember times when my mother would say "I just feel icky today." 😂 Guess that is me today.  

As luck would have it, my former neighbor contacted me this morning to say she forgot but one son has a Cross Country practice after school....not sure how long.  She suggested a later time but we decided to just postpone pizza plans tonight.  Works for me...try, try again.

Did you get your haircut, Tootie?  Hope she did a good job.  

All for now......back to some laundry.

walker, glad you are feeling a bit better ... maybe it is a good thing that your dinner plans were cancelled ... hope you can get a good nights sleep. I'm to your Wheat Thins with CheezIts Extra Toasty ... yum!! I don't buy those too often ..

I did get my haircut ... she did a good job, except I got a razor burn on the back of my neck ... ouch!! I think she pressed a little too hard with the clippers!! ...

I'm following myself this morning ... did you ladies know that Jackie the Bald Eagle from the Eagle cam died?? I just saw (but didn't read all) two separate posts on Community Chat about it ... so sad!! ... apparently she had anemia but also got in a fight with two eagles ... not sure exactly what she died from though ... I have to go back to read ... Fly High Jackie 🦅
