walker, what a nice Christmas for the lady who left Mass early.  So fortunate she sat by you and her purse was returned. Glad you were able to catch up with her.  Your gift exchange, good food and family was a nice goodbye for everyone.

Tootie, sorry you had to go to urgent care, but glad you did get some meds to help you feel better.  Hope you had a happy day with the family - LG and LS were probably very excited and had a lot of fun.  

kittyfan, glad you had a good breakfast and a lunch with friends.  Happy day for you!  

We had a nice gathering here with the G'kids and all the dogs.  DD made a great breakfast in muffin tins and tiny loaf pans, fresh apple slices but no Mimosas 😒  A nice gathering and we all were tired - G'kids left to go  GD's family for lunch/dinner celebration. The rest of us  enjoyed some UB's.

walker, I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye to your family ... but you had a fun, memory filled weekend ... now you can relax and put your feet up with a Mimosa in each hand and reminisce 😊

We had a fun day yesterday with toy overload ... LG's favorite was his garbage/recycling truck (with sound and lights) and LS loved her veterinary kit with a kitty to "make better."

Our weather yesterday was beautiful ... we made it up to 57 degrees!! what? on December 25th?? so much better than last year when we were in the midst of our Blizzard ... DS had windows opened.

Good Morning Friends!  ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

Happy Tuesday!  I'll sit close to the coffee pot and keep pouring.  I did not sleep well last night...🥴...too much holiday excitement I guess...haha.  I'll get back to my normal-not-really-normal rythym eventually.  I am very happy that I have nothing I HAVE TO DO TODAY!!!

Our weather was very mild too, Tootie, 50's.  I saw information on weather report that the last few years have gone in a cycle of mild-cold-mild-cold, etc.  So...next year might be cold with snow again.  🤷‍♀️

DS sent message that they arrived back in Orlando and showed a picture of youngest (18) GS sitting in the pilot's seat!  Ha!  He wants to be a pilot.  I imagine they had time to talk with flight attendant and one thing led to another after flight landed.  I'll have to talk to DS for more info.

Tootie, I could just about see LG and LS with those toys....what fun!  Glad it turned out to be nice day.  Hope you are feeling better.

I almost ended up in urgent care yesterday.  Before everyone left I was showing my DD and two DILs this meat tenderizer gizmo I got them (because I have one and really like it)....good stocking stuffer type gift.  Anyway, I accidentally cut the tip of a finger.  I could not get it to stop bleeding. 😩 Finally, it improved.  Because it was on tip of my finger and right hand, which I use a lot, every time I put the slightest pressure on it, it would bleed.  Sure did not want a trip to ER on Christmas!

cookie, I am sure you enjoyed time with GS and GD...good food and company!  We were still mixing mimosas here yesterday....ha!!!  (Then I put something sharp in my hands...NOT SMART!)

kittyfan, sounds like you had a pleasant day at SO too.  Hope new chef cooks up good meals there in the new year.

Quiet day for me. Just going through paperwork.

Did DNA on Ms Hollyhock.  No rat terrier in her profile.  Majority Chi.  Then Mini pin.  This I had pegged due to her long legs and slender build. Will do Jake next. I have some ideas. But was surprised to not find any rat terrier.

My printer has a mind of it's own.  Last week it printed a document I had requested 10 days ago.  Today printed ok. Technology

Walker:  glad you didn't need Er on Christmas

Today is the 7th anniversary of my brothers sudden passing. I can still recall vividly the details.

kittyfan, I had no idea there was a DNA resource for pets.  So many dogs and cats have a lot of mixtures, it must be difficult to figure out which is which.  We love them whatever they are💖 I can undersstand your printer problems - they sure do have a mind of their own!  

walker, be careful of some of these gizos.  They are made for pain!  Glad you weere able to stop bleeding and didn't have to visit ER.  Stocking stuffers from now on can be cotton balls - ha ha

Tootie, Sounds like LG and LS had a great day with their new toys.  Cute how LS received a Veterinary kit complete with a kitty to make better.  LG and his trucks! Kids are so much fun at Christmas time.  We also were in the 50's and had the patio door open - dogs loved it!

GS is taking me to the lab this morning since DD says I can't or shouldn't drive.  Says I am too old to be driving  among other things. She is draining the life out of me.  I think she is taking her anger and frustrations (I feel they are self inflicted)out on me and even SIL.  Ms. Hitler she is😖👿  I will stop babbling and try to re-gain some of myself.  SCC Strong💪!  

No plans other than Sciatica exercises, Molly and my Kindle.  Will enjoy our cooler - 60.  Have a good day ~

Good morning friends ... walker, yikes! good thing you were able to get your cut finger under control ... it sounds like it's in a spot where it will be bothersome for you to do things ... ugh!! ... how cool that you your GS wants to be a pilot ... I bet he was in his glory when he got to sit in the pilots seat!! ... hope you were able to enjoy a quiet day full of UB's.

kittyfan, hope you were able to enjoy some happy memories of your DB ... it's sad when we loose someone but even harder around a holiday ... hugs ((💗)) ... interesting about DNA on your dogs.

cookie, good luck with your lab work ... it sounds like your DD is watching out for you (maybe a little too much in your eyes) but you did say that you weren't feeling like yourself lately and maybe it's a good idea to let her win this battle 😉😊 plus you get to see your GS!! a win-win!! 💚 hope you are doing better.

DD came over yesterday and we were finally able to get our annual gingerbread house made ... things got in the way and we weren't able to do it before Christmas this year ... they are so much fun to do ... she buys a kit with the house pieces already made up ... we "glue" together with frosting and then decorate ...

No plans here today except some extra UB's, I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep ... Have a good day ... pouring and passing.

Happy What Day Is It Day!!! 😆 I am guessing Wednesday.  I do know it is still 2023 so that is good.

I did not sleep well last night either but part of problem was my own.  I think I have finally "hit the wall" with my over-indulging in everything.  Too many sweet treats, etc.

Last night I had a large plate of leftover pasta from Saturday.  Then I had a piece of DH's Boston Cream Pie-Cake...yummy but, I was miserable after that meal!  I just cannot eat big meals like that anymore.  Learned my lesson...I think.

cookie, hope your lab work is good and bonus time with GS enjoyable.  Maybe bloodwork will show why you are not feeling good lately.  Sounds like DD has her highs and lows...lows not fun for those in her path, eh?  Take cover...😅.

kittyfan, I did not know about pet DNA either...have never known anyone to do it....interesting.  Sorry about your brother's passing right after Christmas.  With all the joy of Christmas comes sadness too.  I saw a neighbor yesterday who said she lost her father on Christmas several years ago....you never get over it...especially this time of year.

Tootie, I have never made a Gingerbread House.  It does sound like fun and could be an idea for family competition in future...🤔😁.

No news....happy to have nothing on schedule except start putting away a few Christmas decorations.  This past month has been nothing but lists, lists, lists, go, go, go.

So.....I'm in slo-mode now....going to coast into 2024.

Thanks for saving Q, cookie, but I don't even want Queen's Quiche today....🐷...oink-oink...piggy needs to back away from the trough.

Good  morning ~

First of all, I want to thank you ladies for all the positive chats, support and so much laughter. It really helps to have such wonderful friends here.  I did enjoy GS and GD taking me to the lab - that was empty but open.  I guess it pays to get there later than 7am opening.  No lab fax from my doctor so no lab work.  Her office is connected to a lab, so at my appointment January 3, I may have to go there.  Kind of upset as I have been "ordered" to get another doctor closer to home.  I do not like the 32 mile one way drive but I do really like her.  Hope she can recommend a doctor closer to home for me.

Tootie, glad you were able to finish your Gingerbread house.  My GS and I made one when he was young and he wanted to save it, so we wrapped with bubble celephane and boxed it.  Watch out!  Got it out the next year and there were some "residents"  - a.k.a. bugs - gave the whole house a new look!  Won't do that again.

walker, hard to believe that you didn't want any Queen's Quiche! You tired your self out!  Love the coasting into 2024.  I hope the "What day is this" is not catching - again.  I had that problem all week.   Good luck putting the Christmas decorations - take a long UB instead 😁

Good morning friends ... cookie, the SCC certainly does have a good support system ... I'm so glad that we are such great friends that can be there for each other 💚 Sorry you couldn't get your lab work done but that you had a good time with your GS/GD ... if you have to change doctors (tough decision I know) I'm sure your doctor now would send you on to someone just as good and nice as she is!! good luck my friend ... oh! I also learned the hard way about saving a Gingerbread house ... I did that when DD was in Brownies ... like you said, they don't keep very well 😳

walker, that would be a fun time to have a Gingerbread House competition (you just can't eat the decorations as you go along 😉😊) speaking of ... hope you are feeling a bit better from your partaking of your food festivities!! a few more days to a New Year and we'll be back to "normal" (is that possible?? 😂)

Happy Thursday!  Three more days for 2023.  Any plans for ringing in 2024?  Party of two here....and fine with me...coast, roll, sleep into new year will be fine.  Maybe I will fix a fondue dinner for DH and myself.  "Maybe"😆

I must have really messed my system up from "over-indulging" in food the other night.  I did not feel good yesterday....exhaustion part of problem.  I ate very little...soup for lunch....tea....water...small bite of dinner.

Then....I was up and down going to the bathroom all night.🥴. Another UB day here!  But, feeling better and will make myself get up and move plus take a walk, I hope.  

cookie, I hope your doctor will recommend another good doctor closer to you.  I have an appointment with mine in February at her new location 20 miles away.  I'm already dreading the drive and wonder if I made the right decision.

We'll see.

If I ever make a gingerbread house, I'll remember not to save it...ha!  Or, maybe seal it in a plexi-glass case? No to bugs!
