Oh, Tootie, funny again about the similarities here with us...DH does genealogy research on his family....I'll have him let me know if he finds any relative links in your area 😆...there were some in eastern NY.  Funny...small world...pass the Apple Crisp..😋.  Also, nothing like Grandmother's baking from years ago....so if grandma used Cortland apples....Cortland it is!!  

Now I can't wait for our Fall weekend and trip to apple orchard in couple of weeks.

Having lazy day here (HA...I have mastered that one with regular UBs)......DH going to grill tonight...won't be long and grills get put away here...☹️ so better enjoy while we can.

One more week of September.....YIKES....⏰✈️ing!!! 😫

Thunder rumbles. We d o need rain. Doggies not bothered. Jake was p a c ING yesterday a y. I washed his one bed and dog blankets. He was whining a nf not happy.
Just got alert gor baseball size hail.

I decided I was tired of nagging Nancy's here. Going out b of my way t o tell server's I appreciate them.

Tried to do laundry. Both washers busy. Will wash tomorrow.

Nagging Nancy - cool name for one of your new characters kittyfan 😄 And, how nice for you to show your appreciation to the servers.  They work hard and deserve recognition.  No wonder you are a Queen Bee.  Cute Jake, not liking his bed and blankets washed.  Must be the old scent blankie bit. I did not hear any thunder or anything about baseball size hail and hope I don't see or experience it.  Yes we need the rain, but in liquid form.

walker, you and Tootie related?  Image the family fun!!!  I have never heard of Cortland apples either, but as you said,   if Grandma used them, then Corland it is.  I love apple crisp!  Hope you enjoyed your grill last night.  

Tootie, sounds like LG enjoyed all the trucks and the recognition from the beeping horn!  I'll bet his little face was glued with a big happy smile!  I read about the orchards in NY and how they are ready for some picking. You and the littles would have been a cute advertisement for them.

The town put signs up that we can't park on the street today (we don't anyways) so we're thinking that they are going to repave it ... the kids are here tomorrow so LG will be in his glory.

Happy Monday!  I hear thunder rumbling outside...hope rain comes and goes quickly ...with no hail too!  Baseball size hail can do a lot of damage!  Maybe that is because in TX everything is bigger, eh? 😉😆

kittyfan, good for you to spread kindness there!  Hope people notice and it catches on!  Why can't people just be nice....or be quiet!!  Funny about Jake and his bed...too clean and like new to him...haha.

We did enjoy our grilling last night although I picked a lesser cut of beef because it was on sale....not as good as rib-eyes....boy are they expensive!  But, before grill gets put away, I'm getting rib-eyes no matter cost.  We can eat tuna fish after...😂.

Before dinner our next door neighbor stopped over with a bag of apples!  Ha!  They had been apple-picking and had too many.  I might be making an apple crisp soon.  Need to eat and use these before we go out to orchard and have more.

I hope those big machines/trucks are out working tomorrow for LG, Tootie.  So cute....all little boys seem fascinated watching them.

I had three ripe bananas yesterday that I did not want to pitch.  I already have some banana bread in freezer.  I decided to look for a mini-muffin recipe....found one...super easy and good!!!  DH loved them...probably because they were warm out of oven.  I had to get them in freezer quickly...ha.

Good coffee....good friends....makes babbling easy but will sign off for now......enjoy your day!

Good afternoon

We did have a storm last night. Saw reports if Karter hail. I didn't see any. I had g I b e to look out the door. Power gies out. Trying to feel my way to rmergrncy light. Piwrr ba c k on. Whew

I did text my TS psl. We had shared some really heartfelt conversations. I know she is a woman of strong faith. I had g often sn Email that she didn't want phone calls but texts ok. I sent her a message from the heart. She responded almost immediately.

Yum. Crisp apples!!!

Grilling sea a on ending already. I guess living in this part of the World it is always grilling season.

I have become s creature of habit. The server doesn't ask. Just brings me saladv with blue cheese!

Hi there......kittyfan, happy that your power did not stay out for long.  I am sure your comforting message to TS friend meant a lot.  

Today I decided to look up an Apple Pie recipe.  DH thinks I should bake a pie and share it with neighbors who gave us the apples. 🤔 So, "maybe" I will do that....or Apple Crisp or Apple Brownies.  Anyway, thought of you, Tootie, as I looked in a cookbook called "Perfect Pies" which I bought on the Q several years ago.  At the time, I thought I would bake up a storm of pies....haha....never happened!  Found an easy recipe ...author said "we use Cortland apples for their sweetness"......so another long-time baker using Cortlands!  Must be good!  Did you see recipe for an Apple Cake here?  Sure looks good and easy to make...something different.

Time to think of dinner instead of pie so bye for now.

I called the mechanic to see about my car.  they are swamped and it is still on the board (as they call it)  He will call me when he has more info.  I am okay with that but don't like relying on DD for transportation.  Local is fine but anything further - no.  Feeliing a little better but still down in the dumps.  Takes awhle to let go of  compounding issues.  A new Gremlin?  Dump Gremlins😣 Be Gone!!  

Tootie, how fun for LG - made his day!  Little boys and their toys - Trucks, trucks, trucks.  Now a repaving truck - WOW!  Enjoy he grill in your nice weather.

What a find!  walker, there really are Cortland Apples😊  Glad that the banana recipe turned out so well and DH loved it. Warm muffins are always soooo good. 

kittyfan,  I didn't hear any thunder or see any hail.  I did see some bad damages at a local ar dealer on the news - what a me$$.  Very little, if any rain here.  Hope we don't get the grapefruit size hail. Sounds like you have made a new friend with your server - she knows what you like.  What a lady!
