Yesterday we spent some time down in the basement ... since I got rid of my village and accessories last month I had a lot of empty totes just hanging around ... we moved those to another corner (for the time being) and we rearranged the Christmas things ... I now have a smaller "Christmas Corner".

Happy Thursday!  It is going to cool off here today...78...so, hang in there, Tootie, it's coming.  Cooler for cookie and kittyfan than you....odd!  But, glad for TX friends!

Speaking of TX, yes, guys made it!  Along the way...OK or TX....they had lunch at a place where Elvis had been...sat in same booth as Elvis...ha!  Sent a picture which was cute.  And, they did visit the Palo Duro Canyon (hope I have that right)....more pictures...wow...as kittyfan said...different part of TX from central.  Not sure where they had dinner....will let you know.  The adventure continues...off to New Mexico.

Tootie, I am so jealous of your well organized basement...and....."Christmas Corner" too.  

 Tonight is my "Girls Night In" here....should be fun...just simple dinner "chick-type" meal..two different salads..one with chicken..rolls...new recipe I tried..Parmesan Knots... deviled eggs....and fixed those Key Lime Balls (recipe found here)...may also fix these apple pie bites I have made often...easy...oh, another new recipe before....Strawberry Salsa....🤞...more later on food reviews. 😉

Walker. Sounds like the fellas are having a great time. When Elvis was in Army stationed at Ft Hood. Up road from Cookie. Name changed recently. Iwas happy to hear they visited the canyon. Beautiful place. Wherever they ate I know they enjoyed. They certainly packed a lot into this trip.

Hi there......taking a UB before finishing some prep for tonight.  But, wanted to let you know, DH said they really enjoyed the canyon and spent a lot of time there.  When they were done, the boys just wanted to jump in a pool because it was hot.  No one felt like a big dinner so did not go to the Big Steakhouse.  Thanks for the TX tips though....guess Canyon was more important than the steakhouse....too bad they did not stay for another day.

They are packing a lot in on this trip!  On way to NM.

Temperatures and humidity have finally dropped here.  I got a walk in this morning.  After I "rest my eyes" I will finish a couple things and clean off the deck.  Ready to 🥳...wish you were here too!

Glad they enjoyed the canyon. I know it us toasty. Understand wanting a pool and a liter dinner. Thought I would throw it out. But happy they went to the canyon and enjoyed it.

Tootie, another gold star✵ for you!  I am envious of your cleaning out the basement and the new Christmas corner!  Hope the smoke and haze is disappearing and you can stay cool and enjoy outside.  - what a mess!  Another warm day today - 95 and I will get a new hairdo too!- Humidty🥵

Good morning friends ... our basement clean out/organizing has been a long time coming ... could I have done it before DH retired?? yes, but I wouldn't because I am a big chicken when it comes to finding spiders .. haha!! and it's a lot easier when there are two of us ...

walker, I hope your girls night dinner went well ... your menu sounds delicious!! wish we were there too!! 😋

cookie and kittyfan, hope you can stay cool and get some much needed rain ... we had a very short thunderstorm last night right after dinner ... it poured for about 5 minutes and then it cleared up ... we've been pretty dry here and it really didn't do much.

Today we'll have an 81 degree day with low humidity ... 🤞 Have a good day ... pouring and passing ... cookie, a Lemonade Mimosa sounds delicious ... I think I'll make a big pitcher of ...

Tootie, did you see the thread (Community Chat) about spiders?  You just mentioned finding spiders in basement and I thought of you immediately....coincidence!  
Warning..there is a picture of one posted....🙀.  I do not like them either....especially big ones.  I can deal with the little guys.  Actually, I don't like bugs period!  

Dinner last night was fun.  Everything went well...sat outside for awhile before we ate.  DIL's mother brought a tasty appetizer.  Her sister brought these small bite-size cream-filled dessert treats.  I was very glad I ran out of time and did not make my apple pie bites (I posted recipe on recipe game here).

Travelers made it to NM....found some place called blue lagoon...rock you can jump off into "blue hole"...boys loved it.  I think trip on ROUTE 66 has gone real well. Thanks again for Amarillo tips, kittyfan.  They sent alot of pictures of visit to canyon.   I'm sure DH is ready to get home.....not sure I am ready...LOL!  

cookie, I think you and Tootie could start a mimosa business...hey, there are food trucks so why not drink trucks?  😂 You come up with good ideas for new mimosas...lemonade does sound good...especially in heat!

Oh sounds like tge fellas are having a super time. Yes DH is ready to get home to a routine!! Life on the road either the 3As must be a raucous experience.

Glad they made the canton. Not sure if it was on their radar. A few miles down the road but spectacular

walker, glad the guys made it to NM and a Blue Lagoon - sounds like fun!!! Route 66  can be an amazing drive - lots to see and do. Hmmm, a Mimosa Truck?  Tootie mixes and I get to sample ......  just in case of course😅 Glad your dinner turned out so well and those apetizers sound delicious!  

Tootie, I don't like spiders either - big or little they all can go away!  Too many everywhere.  I know they have a purpose, but not to irritate your or me!  You sure  got some Texas weather.  We will be 97 today with some winds to blow away the humidty?  Hope so.  

kittfan, I do remember Catthy in CO!  Wonder what happened to her -she was very sweet and put up with us😊
