I guess our rain is coming your way, Tootie.  We really needed it.  Wow....cookie and kittyfan broke out of three digits!!  89 would be hot to me but, for both of you, cool and delightful compared to 100+.  Sunday..."official" day of rest ....or....first day of UBs for week...🤣.

No news....quiet weekend (except for my rant yesterday) ...haven't decided yet whether to go to Church of the Couch or Walk-In Church.  I really enjoy sermons given by Cardinal on Church of the Couch.

We'll see.....

Hello friends ... we had a decent day and it didn't start raining until dinnertime ... we went down by the water for a walk (me and my crazy idea!! it was a little more humid than I thought it would be) and then sat by the canal to cool off (nice cool breeze coming off the water) and to people and boat watch ... lots of boats coming up and down ... and there is a restaurant across the canal that people actually boat to ... it was a quiet afternoon ...

walker, I like that saying to the 3A's ... short and sweet ...

cookie and kittyfan, I hope you were able to enjoy a cool day as well ...

Good morning ~

Tootie, sounds like a nice place to people watch and enjoy the cool breeze from the canal.  Have you ever gone over to the restaurant on the other side?  Lucky you got some rain.  We are supposed to get some this morning and more with thunder in the afternoon.  We'll see. 

Went to a fast food lunch with DD and enjoyed a hamburger and fries.  Never been there but it was very good and not $$$$. On the way home, we stopped at DD's salon (I have never been there).  Very nice.  They have a room witth a barber as well and I met him for the first time.  He has some really neat things as decorations.  Nice guy too.  Went next door to Baskin Robbins for a malt - YUM! Came home and UB'ed the rest of the day with my Kindle and Molly.

Good morning friends ... cookie, it sounds like you had a fun day with your DD ... how nice that you got to see your DD's shop and meet the barber ... it brought back memories of the place I went to before my guy retired ... the salon also had a room for the barber ... we have visisted the restaurant across the canal ... it's very nice and not too expensive but always super crowded ... good food! we can walk across the bridge from where we were sitting yesterday to get there too (although I haven't been there in a couple years) they've built that area up (on both sides of the canal) within the past couple of years and it's very nice to go to ...

We'll have an "off and on" rainy day with a high of 74 ... Fall is moving in ... and it's getting darker in mornings now and earlier at night ... ugh!! that's what I don't like about Fall ... and then we move the clocks back and it's even darker!!

Happy Monday!  You are right, Tootie, Fall is in the air!  Just wondering....are we changing clocks this year or did they end that...🤔...hmmmm....hope I remember right...no more Daylight Savings Time!?? 🤞

Tootie and cookie.....you both had a nice Sunday out and about....I would love to be close to water ....relaxing and great place to people watch!  cookie, now you know where DD is at work....glad you enjoyed getting out with her.  kittyfan, any luck Cafe was open for you?

Had an unexpected call yesterday from old-close-friend who got ball rolling for celebrating our birthdays this year. We had talked about it before but due to her surgery this past Spring, we thought we would have to put it off.  Long story short....along with another close friend...and hubbys ....we are going to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan in Oct.  Check it out online...fabulous and expensive but we are worth it!!!  LOVE the island but have never stayed at this hotel before.  One night stay..💰💰💰.

Can't wait!!  Had to laugh when friend asked if I would like to celebrate early...HA!!!  I can celebrate ANYTIME! 🥳

Better glance at my paper and get moving....pretty day here.  Hope you all have a good one....even with needed rain especially in TX!

😂...more crowns....this place is so fancy that a crown would fit in...ha!!  DH not thrilled that he has to take a sport coat, shirt, tie, slacks, etc, just to go in for dinner there!!  Dress up the way they did years ago!   Grand life at Grand!  Since retirement, he enjoys "casual"!  I just want to spend one night and rock on the porch! 😄

FORGOT earlier....if any of you watch Food Network in evening.....tonight at 9pm EST, 8pm CST....Bobby Flay has a new program with his daughter....Coastal trip or something...tonight is intro with another one tomorrow night....anyway....Bobby F and daughter are seen driving/riding in a 1957 blue T-Bird....my brother-in-law's car!!!!  He was at a car show one day and some producers came up to him to ask if he would like to rent out his car.  He did and now it will be on TV!  Ha!  Big deal...just a car but should be fun to watch.  I forget what he was paid to use it.

Cafe was closed this weekend. I actually was OK. Was exhausted after TS. Drop deposit at bank and home. Friday made drs apt. Didn't lo[k at calender. Decided to cancel and book apt with primary care. Called office. All are busy book online. Argh. Finally schemed a time that works.

Cookie: your DDs salon sounds lovely. Next door to ice cream shop would be tempting .

I am seeing flooding from Dallas area. Rain is expected this evening. I plan to be tucked in.

Hi there.....doing my usual Monday laundry and taking UB.

kittyfan, good to hear from you.  After I sent message this morning, I did see in news about flooding in Dallas area...thinking of you and cookie.  First you have HEAT...DRY..DRY...then FLOODS!  You are all due for nice weather!!  Think you are both high and dry...hope so.

Made final hotel plans with friends...first night we will meet on mainland...next day we catch ferry to island ....no cars on island...transportation all with horses, bikes or your own two feet.  Great place to visit!
