Tootie and walker, you two are lucky - chicken on the grill is so good. SIL is very good at grilling it and will grill without being asked in most weather conditions.  He is one of a kind!  We had Patty melts - very good.  

Laughing at the wilted look walker.  Good one but not on me either!  Wore straight hair in the 70's by choice 😄 - no choice now 😕  

Hope your predicted rain stays away so you can enjoy your grill Tootie.  This crazy weather!!!

Shout out to kittyfan - hope you are staying dry and cool.

Good morning friends ... I'm not sure what this weather is doing ... it was supposed to be a rainy day but (for now) we have blue skies and sun ... windows opened! we'll see how long it lasts!

cookie,  I never had a Patty Melt but was pretty sure I knew what one was ... according to my friend, Google, a thin burger w/cheese on toasted bread ... that sounds really good! maybe someday I'll get to try one.

And since I'm on a food topic ... my DD makes a great Eggplant Parm but that is the only time (and it's not very often) I eat eggplant and when she makes it for us I have her peel it first ... I don't like the looks of that purple skin when it is cooked ... and yes! to the French Toast .. 😁

Happy Sunday!  It is still summer....steamy....thankful for A/C but I prefer open windows. 

cookie, I laughed at your F and, in fairness, I should try Eggplant Parmesan sometime.  Let me know next time your DD fixes it, Tootie...😆...have jet will travel! My DIL loves Eggplant Parm too.

Might bake cookies today but I try to avoid humid days and baking.  Even with A/C on humidity seems to affect the turn-out.  We'll see how the spirit moves me! Ha!

good afternoon

Went to Bible class, church, and family Sunday school. Home for a nap. It was a long morning. The nursing home had opened up a bit from total lockdown. With the Covid numbers they are imposing restrictions again. I know they would bring ladies to the TS once s month. They had come once. Back to restrictions. I know it is hard on families. 

I saw the shower list. The only outrageous items were the table and a dresser. I put some money in envelope. I probably would have given more but this was from my heart. 

On vaccinations I feel it is a personal choice. I choose to get it but I did not advertise on FB etc. I have a family member who shares way to much on FB. I am on FB but hardly ever post anything. I may make a comment but never respond to those questions. Who was your first grade teacher etc. A cousin who is older than I am responded. I was interested to see we has the same teacher but didn't comment publicly

I got a text from FHG. AKA Arlene. Said to fill up as something major would happen on Monday. I had just filled up as I was near empty. A lady at FS had visited Hawaii. Saidvgas was $5 a gallon!  I know CA is always very high due to taxes etc.  Arlene has sent me messages from time to time. It's been a while. I can't say warnings had any merit

Hi friends.....hope you have had a nice Sunday.  Quiet day here.....took an early walk this morning before heat turned up.  Then I got to Church of the Couch just in time to get my seat! Ha! 

kittyfan, what a coincidence that you heard from FHG after I mentioned her.  Wonder what big thing is happening tomorrow!?  Good grief...what next?  Gas here is over $3.50...premium over $4.  We are planning to go out of town next weekend...better not be gas shortages.

I think vaccinations are personal choice as well.  And, I would really be concerned about kids.  DD had GS get shot.  3A's have not because DS does not want them to have it.  DIL thinks they should.  Doctors...of course...say they should....tough decision.  DS and family in FL have not gotten shots.  

Think you did what was right, kittyfan...and from your heart ....with gift of money in an envelope for Pastor and wife.

Hello ... kittyfan, how fun to have the ladies from the Nursing Home come to the TS ... but now they may have to wait a while before they can come back ... nice gesture for the shower and you gave from your heart!

walker, glad you were able to get your walk in and still claim your seat at Church ... hahaha!! ... vaccanations and kids? I don't know what NY is doing but am wondering if kids would have to be vaccinated for school ... eventually?? I haven't heard anything about it ... IMO ... it seems that gas prices go up during the summer months because the Powers that Be know that a lot of people are traveling ... but I think Covid may have something to do with this increase too??!

kittyfan- What a nice thing for the nursing home ladies.  It is too bad they now may have to wait.  I think you handled the shower gift very nicely.  A gift from the heart is a lovely gifft.  I am also on FB but rarely post, just read the notifications and once in a while answer - but like you not the silly ones.

I read that the gas prices  will continue to rise - I paid $2.66 Friday - up from $2.51 a couple of weeks ago.  My BFF in CA is paying $4.68!!  My DS hit the $80.00 fill up the other day!!!  Are we all going to be poor, sick and homeless????  I think gas pricing is what FHG was talking about.

I stayed inside yesterday as it was 98 with some humiditty.  Today will probably be 100.  Summer has arrived.  A very uneventful day.  I did ~

Good morning friends ... ugh! 100 degrees?? we'll be at 87 and it is very muggy right now with fog ... another inside day for me ... I think we've been on 3 bike rides this year 🙁 I'm hoping we can make up for it in the fall.
