On Friday we tried two restaurants. Both had notices for help wanted. We left first as no server came. Others appeared to be waiting  Second restaurant smaller. Same help wanted notes. 

Woke up last night to thunder boomers. Checked weather. I think it missed me although further east had over sn inch of rain

Oh car shopping. Crazy buying times. Trying to buy quilting batting for church. I am not driving to pick up.

kittyfa - sorry situation with the restaurants .  I have read about how difficult it is now to get employees - they can get more $$ from unemployment.  Sad  to see what is happening out there.  Hard times all around.  Hope the Cafe doesn't have this problem.  What happened to work ethics?😣 😒

walker, I also saw pictures of the aftermath and am doubly glad it missed you!!  Definitely was the crown! 😊 

Thanks for the cool weather Tootie - it must have been hijacked or bypassed us - we will be 96+ today.  It's the thought that counts 🥰  Another AC/fan day for us.

Good morning friends ... yep! the government has made it way to easy for people to not want to go out and work ... they can sit home and get paid ... come September when the well runs dry, we'll see what happens ... although I did hear that some states shut off that extra money already ...

kittyfan, do you do quilting?? ... Quilts are beatiful and it looks like there is a lot of work put into them ...

We will have a perfect 74 degree day here (cookie, I'll try again to send you some cooler weather ... 🤞) ... we're hoping to get a bike ride in ... it's either been too windy or too cold to ride.

kittyfan, I was wondering too if you do "quilting".  A few years ago, I stayed at a hotel that was having a Quilters Convention.  Amazing and beautiful quilts were on display.

Oh, so true, about shortage of workers .... we are suppose to meet some friends for dinner tonight...wonder what we will find.  We need to shut off this flow of money.

cookie, does the TX heat make dogs sleepy....less trouble?haha.....Tootie, enjoy your delightful day...my comfort range...70's...hope you get your bike ride in....I think bike rides are more relaxing than taking a walk.

Special thanks to my wonderful number 1 son!!!  He walked me through the maze of technology.  He said MicroSoft had a big update that took forever to restart.  Why didn't they warn their customers????? Anyway, it is all fixed now.

good afternoon. I admire quilters but we do these quilts for missions. So functional pieces. My arthritis has affected me so I haven't been participating. I had been buying the batting as I refused to drive to pick up a load. Somehow

 when they started to run low it was assumed it was my job.   I have been trying to do less but we are such a smsll group it doesn't seem to happen. Of course we have several "helpless hannahs" who play that card!

Another warm day here. Will be playing it simple. Yesterday I was out with the dogs. Jake has been doing better about staying in the yard. I saw the neighbor come home. When Jake heard the gate he was off to visit. I heard my neighbors voice. Heard him drive in and Jake was back home. He is very social and can't understand why not everyone finds him charming.  The first time we got caught in the yard I was trying to get him out the gate was locked and I was trying to call him to come another way. He drove up and said first he thought it was one of his but he was too fat. He really isn't fat. Just built stocky with short legs. So Jake will say hello when he csn.

cookie, did not know you were having problems but glad to know your DS helped you out.  Yes, why don't they give us a "heads up" when they are messing behind the scenes with these computers!  

kittyfan, you are the "go to gal" in your groups....need something done...ask you!  Gets old, eh?  Helpless Hannah's are multiplying...haha.  Cute little friendly Jake...Mr. Social...haha.

Ran my grocery store errands this morning.  Now I can "UB it" the rest of afternoon..👍.

Computer up and running perfectly!  Sure makes the day go better when you have no computer problems first thing in the morning! 

 kittyfan - I belonged to a quilting group many years ago and loved it.  Made several quilts and still have some ones I started.  One is scraps from all my daughters dresses when she was little.  It is packed away somewhere.  I haven't the room to make one now.  Your Jake sounds like a cutie!

walker, good luck with the car gazing!  The dealers have very low inventories here and all over.  I read that some used cars are going for prices when new!!!  Crazy!!

We will have another 95+ day with no rain!  The cleaning ladies came yesterday so my chores are done - haha.  No doubt I will find something in my room that needs to be purged, cleaned or used up.  

Tootie, hope you get in another bike ride!

cookie, what a neat idea to make a quilt out of scraps from your DD's dresses ... that's a keeper!! ... glad to hear that your chores are done, now you can enjoy UB's all day!!😁

walker, how was dinner last night? are things starting to go back to normal? ... funny story, DH had the sprinkler going for most of the day (there goes the water bill) and of course he had to keep running out and moving it so every blade of grass got watered. He said (after his any trips) "I wonder if there is anyone else out there that is a fanatic about their lawn?" ... I said "umm, I can think of one other person ... he lives in Chicago ... that would be Mr. Walker." 😂😂🤣

The weather cooperated and we were able to get our bike ride in ... Have a good day ... pouring and passing.
