Re: Thyme For Fun!

[ Edited ]

Good Morning Friends! 🇺🇸😷

Happy Thursday!  I have to say that to myself as I can never remember....each day just rolls into another one and is the same.

Like.....when you retire.....Everyday is a Saturday!  True!

No news from me....maybe I'll just keep this short today..😅.

cookie, hope your appointment  is "on time" and goes well.  I am an "impatient patient" when I have to wait too long.  I make it a point to get places on time and think they should do same.  Unforeseen delays happen but some places never get their scheduling right.  Maybe things will go better now that they aren't booking as many people these days.  Let us know.  Tell them you are in a hurry for another appointment ...on the MGR! 😂

Well, I said this would be short...HA.  Following Tootie with the mimosas .....hopping on Tony 🐅Tiger today.....have a GRRReat Day everyone!  😆

G ..... Grapefruit

NEXT ..... H or let me take....in case of BUMP....Honey

MGR Hank Hippo.jpg

Tootie ~ Hank the Hippo at your service!  I think I have ridden him before.  If I remember, he was very sweet and always wanted to cuddle.  With a Hippo???  He does like Mimosas though.

Getting ready to leave.  See you in awhile.

MGR White Tiger.jpg

BUMP to you walker.  Here is your white Tiger.  Tony and family were out on Safari so Thaddeous - Tad for short - will take his place.  He is still a youngster but can't wait to carry a real Queen!  Apparently he can read - smart little bugger -  and has read about you for some time. His biggest wish was to actually meet our infamous Queen.  Carry on Your Highness ~

Oh our Cookie. A famous Authoress. We certainly enjoy all the pictures and commentary.

Yesterday was TS. Mostly faces I knew. Well masked anyway. A few I think belonged to one of the groups. They are a group that goes out during the summer months so they aren't always around. A couple from church arw members of this group. I pointed out to a friend that they were likely gone until fall. She was one who cams in with big ideas. She was going to organize a youth choir etc. Well this was pre coviid but I did wonder how she was going to juggle. Well not my rodeo. I have trouble wrangling my own.

Well last week when I was at TS there was a new volunteer from the community. Most but not all of us are members of one of the churches who work together. I recognized her as a shopper. She is from a very conservative denomination with strict dress codes etc. Well I saw she signed up each day. Well I didn't see her. Checked the books not here. I am thinking she won't be joining us again. I certainly don't know her situation but we really do need volunteers. I see the same cirre group. Few added faces depending on church. My church is in two weeks. Know I can only count on one. Fortunately the core group fills in. Many from the very beginning. My group has some who work so coming on Friday is not an option.

Last week we did a kids clothing sale forv25 cents. Lots of cute clothes. Great news for parents. We are doing this again this week. Probably will continue as we have so much.

Beanie babies. I know someone (Male) who was obsessed. Had spreadsheets what a marketing genius vdifferent ones released in different areas. Created lots of frenzy

Well we have a lady who does Children's Shioe boxes at Christmas. She collects all year. Beanie babies are part of her boxes. Samaritans Purse might give you a location close to you. I know the Baptist Church does thousands of boxes. They full a tractor trailer that goes on to Dallas. I would rather donate not to Goodwill. I am anti Goodwill. Priced too high. We are all volunteer. Monies we gather go to community. People are very generous to us. Others will expect their change if it is 2pennies.

Cookie hope your appointment was without incident.

Oh my National Cheesecake day. Yum. I am not a fan of the restaurant. I think it is overpriced and over rated. And the cafe does cheesecake occasionally. They did an eggnog cheesecake that was delicious. One of the items that started my ordering from the cafe

Café is open tomorrow. My plan is to stop by afrer TS. Strawberry crepes for sure nit sure what else I saw a post that they are struggling. Lots of expenses that don't stop bthey have a successful location in San Antonio but you still have fixed costs.

I do love a hot fudge sundae. Whipped cream. Cherry required.

Am waiting for Café to post specials

L:. Lemon blueberry crepes. With candies peel. Of Mt so yummy

kittyfan.....great to get your newsy message....you keep so busy which is a good thing....doing good things for others too.  Thank you for suggestion about Children's Boxes and Samaritan's Purse.  I am familiar with them.  I went through all of my Beanie Babies today and did some research.  Very few out there are worth anything anymore although, if you look on eBay, you would think different....crazy prices.  Even though I have some special ones, I don't think I have anything of value.  I separated out those that were my favorites.  I do think saving them for special gift boxes or something similar is a good idea.

I agree about Goodwill and only go there because of convenience.  I use St. Vincent DePaul too.  I really wanted to donate to our church rummage sale because proceeds go back to church.  However, that got cancelled for this year.

Hope you do get some extra help at TS.  Strange about one gal who signed up for everyday and then was a no-show.

I love Cheesecake but rarely have it.....one of those special treats but a little goes a long way!  Those lemon-blueberry crepes sound yummy too!

Bye for now.....

Hello ... we are having a beautiful night here ... 74 comfortable degrees ... we went on our bike ride and then sat out on the patio ... we were entertained by a bunny that was trying to get through the chainlink fence next door ... he kept running along the fence back and forth ... it took him a good 10 minutes to try and find one link that he could fit through ... and then he took off like a bullet ...

kittyfan, good to see you ... I never heard of the Children's Boxes and Samaritan's Purse but what a great idea ... sorry about the no-show volunteer ... and more good food from the Cafe ...

walker, I used to donate to St. Vincent DePaul because they had a box right in the church parking lot ... but since they decided to get rid of it, I take them to the Goodwill ... they have a truck drop off in the parking lot of the grocery store ... very convenient.

cookie, hope everything went well today ...

See you in the morning ... Hank had so much fun with us today ...

Good morning ~  I have never heard of Samaritins Purse or Childrens Boxes either.  I am not generally a fan of Good Will either, so it is nice to have alternatives.  And........ there is a great Thrift Store in Texas - I heard there is a wonderful lady who volunteers and is a Buzzie Bee at it !

Tootie, I am envious of your nightime weather - we don't cool down much latelly.  Humidity is not fun either.  Today will be 93 - we'll see.  Cute bunny story.  I love bunnies as did my mother who had one as a personal pet.  His name was Rabbit E. Lee.  He was house trained and we all loved him.

kittyfan, I wish we all lived closer so we could go to the Cafe and enjoy our good friendship and their wonderful food.  I hope they are doing well.

Time for the MGR - a short ride then off to a manicure and errands.  Of course I will return to join the crazy fun!

Today I will be enjoying Archie Armadillo.  He is a devious, little fellow but also very lovable.  He is in a band of sorts in his spare time, using his shell as a washboard type instrument.   He will attempt to lick your face with his long tongue as  sign of his fondness.  He will have to try a Mimosa in a long tall glass!

This ought to be interesting!!!  Jumping on and ready for Tootie's special Mimosas!

Passing the coffee ~
