Re: ReThyme For Fun!

[ Edited ]

Good morning!! ... I'm all ready for BAT .... pancakes and waffles with red and green sprinkles, fresh fruit, coffee/tea and mimosas .... and I thought since it is Christmas time, that we could go caroling throughout the neighborhood ... when we are done, we will come back for some hot chocolate with candy cane stirrers and (more) mimosas!! ... bundle up, it is only 27 out!!

walker, what a cool idea!! ... one of my memories at Christmas is the cute, cardboard "Mr and Mrs Santa Claus" candy containers that one of our elderly neighbors (who was like another grandma) gave us ... they had a real "jingle bell" on them and of course, I was excited because there was candy in them, but we put them up every year after that (empty!) on the buffet ... by the time I was a teenager, they were really showing thier age, but we still put them up!! ... DM eventually had to get rid of them as they no longer stood up Smiley Sad

Have a good Saturday ...

Good morning!!! Keep that food hot Tootie, I'm hungry! I have bonus supply and Christmas cookies in hand. I'll get my wind pipes in shape for some singing.

I remember always sleeping under the Christmas tree for a couple of nights, that was big stuff! Also just enjoying picking out a new ornament at a local store. I go to that same store each year with my kids and have them pick out an ornament. I loved all decorations, and still do!

See you soon!

Good Morning Friends!

Brrrrr morning....16!  But, warming up to a mild week ahead.....nice flying weather for Santa.

Cute story, Tootie.  Christmas brings back so many memories.  I still have our family nativity too.   QM remembers buying it back in early 50's.

Lots to do today but first off to Tootie's for BAT!!!  Sounds delicious as always.....and caroling will be fun too!  See you soon.

Good morning ~  I was "allowed" to sleep in a little this morning. Ready for breakfast, mimosas, cookies and caroling in 27 degrees!!! I think I'll wear the jacket I bought last year but have never worn.  Christmas memory for me - my dad would be the first one up and stood guard at the closed door to the living room. We had an old bungalow house that actually had doors. He would make us wait until everyone was up and then take a peek to announce that Santa must have forgotten us.  Sure Bert!  We knew he was kidding and looked forward to this every year.

Neat memory Cookie, sounds like a fun dad!

No worries! I have a Super Sized Bonus supply!! Never runs out!

My boys always attempt to sleep under the tree...sleeping bags and everything to go with it, by 10:30 they usually want to go to their beds!

I- I'm ready with bells on!! Jingle all the way!

Oh I so loved to go downtown to see the lovely Christmsas windows---That was always a treat.

I don't remember believing in Santa but Mother told me that we would go to church on Christmas Eve.  My Dad would slip home to put the gifts out---and we would open them when we got home.  Christmas Day we went to grandparents.

J:  Jingle bells---jingle all the way of what fun it is to ride in an open sleigh.

Hello ... we did a great job of singing (or at least I thought we did!!) ... some of my neighbors gave us cookies, but others just slammed the door in our face ... sorry, but I think walkers crown and cookies Catmobile gave us away ... AND the fact that we got louder and louder (and drank more and more mimosas to warm) until someone came to listen probably upset them too!! ... all in all we had a great Christmas BAT with great friends and good food and drink .... thank you for bringing extra goodies!!

I am enjoying all of your Christmas memories ... so much fun!! ... another memory I have (not so funny for my parents) was, after we checked our stockings, one of my brothers would count all of the candies/goodies he got (so we would all count ours) and if he got less than we did ... he would get so mad!! ... Silly Santa, forgot to count them out so we all got the same amount Woman Very Happy .....

Oh Tootie, I think I lost my voice today!! Maybe your neighbors will do their own caroling next year! I thought they enjoyed us sharing our beverages with them though.

My kids count the presents under the tree also...not sure how many I have for each of them, but I'll hear about it if it's not even.

Thanks for the food and fun!!

L- Lively, Lovely bunch today!!

Thanks for another fun BAT, Tootie.  You have the best ideas.  Caroling was fun......glad I brought along my thermos for the mimosas....we were a happy bunch!!  Most of your neighbors enjoyed our singing...just a few were grumbling....just heard one person say..."that lady down the street....does she have to have these people every week?"   Ahhh....Christmas fun!

Funny story about counting the candy, Tootie.

Speaking of memories.....I was pretty young....my grandparents came for Christmas.  On Christmas morning.....very early ....about 4:00am......my grandfather shouts...."THERE HE GOES....SANTA....I SAW HIM!"   Well, my brother and I were wide awake then......and my parents wanted to shoot my grandfather!!!

Very tired from busy day!!   See you tomorrow.
