Good morning ~ FHG, you sure have had enough problems! You definitely need a get away! Rio de Janerio is going to be 81 today - is that warm enough? I don't know when the Carnivale is, but we can give them a run for the money!!!! Also, I have never been to SA and I say, lets go! The decision is up to our humble Queen. Kathy please bring your drinks! Stay warm and safe everyone ~

I just came in from ""grooming"" the driveway .... I hate when those big ""car chunks"" fall from the cars tire area and are left hanging out in the driveway .... it drives me crazy (one of my pet peeves) .... It actually feels warm out there today ... it is 32 degrees!! But ... still not warm enough .... I will be listening for my ALL ABOARD call .... can't wait!! See you later!!

H ~ Ham ... to go with those green beans

Hi! We are windy and cold today. Looking forward to warm weather with the FF.

I thought that the pork from PD was just okay. DH really liked it. Maybe the leftovers will be better.

bigkat, go to Food Network.com and get Trisha Yearwood's recipe for pulled pork. It is really good and I think by far the best one. I usually use pork loin season it with salt and pepper. Pour a bottle of green enchilada sauce and two cans of fire roasted diced tomatoes over it. Let it go in the crockpot for about 8 hours. I make up a box of beans and rice on the side. Sometimes, we put it in burritos with cheese and sour cream. This does shred easily. Yum!

Jerk Shrimp Kebobs with Tomatoes, Onions, and Peppers page 64 The Deen Bros. Take It Easy.

1/4 c. bottled jerk sauce

1/2 cup plus 2 TBS olive oil

1 1/2 tsps peeled and finely chopped fresh ginger

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup grape or cherry tomatoes

1 large onion, cut into chunks

1 red bell pepper, seeded and cut into 1/4 inch strips

1 TBS chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

If using bambooo skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes. Preheat broiler or prepare the grill.

To make the marinede: In a large bowl, whcih together the jerk sauce, 1/2 cup of the olive, oil, the ginger, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss to coat. Cover and marinate for 15 minutes.

In a separate bowl, toss the tomatoes and onion with the remaining 2 TBS olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.

Spread the vegetables out on a large plate and microwave them for 2 minutes. Let the vegetables cool slightly, then thread them onto skewers along with the shrimp.

Place the skewers on a rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, or, if grilling, place on the grill. Cook, turning once, for 5 to 6 minutes more, or until the vegetable are tender and the shrimp are opaque. Garnish with the parsley before serving.

Note from The Deen Bros. If you can't find jerk sauce, you can skip it and make this even simpler. Just brush the shrimp and veggies with olive oil, season with salt and pepper and grill as directed. The shrimp won't be spicy, but their sweet flavor will really shine.

Well I guess it is good afternoon now! Happy FF!!! Got my grocery shopping done...plenty of Velveeta there, and it was on sale! Picked up a roast and the soups for the slow cooker, maybe on Sunday.

We are 32 right now, slushy mess outside! All the salt and sand that was down now gets sprayed all over your vehicle {#emotions_dlg.angry}. Rain coming sometime this afternoon which will cause a bigger mess on top of snow and ice on roofs. I hate those car "chunks" too, always shoveling them out of the garage if they make it in there. I have a neighbor that kicks them off in the road before going in their driveway...thanks, we all get to drive over them.

Thanks for the info Kathy, I will have to check that out. Sounds good in a burrito! Drink sounds great, maybe we'll need a cold one too when we get to our warm destination!

I am packed and ready to go, can't wait!

Well wishes to you FHG!!

Hi girls! Still without water; waiting to hear back from either the church or the widow's ministry. I'm also waiting on the guy from the HVAC place - I hate smelling things (animal hair, most likely) that make their way into the furnace and burn, and can't wait to get it cleaned out. If I don't hear from him in an hour, I'll call again.

I thought we were going to Pago Pago???

It's warmer out, but rain for the next two days - water where I DON'T want it! {#emotions_dlg.crying}
