I always get rave reviews on my lemonade so thought I'd share:
5-6 Lemons, cut in half & juiced. Save the lemon halves
2 C. sugar
2 C. water
In a small sauce pan make a simple syrup by dissolving the sugar in the water over low heat.Be sure to occasionally stir. Let cool.
Pour lemon juice into a large pitcher. Add 1 C. simple syrup, lots of ice & fill pitcher to top. Stir well.
When ready to serve add 1 of the lemon halves to each glass, more ice & pour lemonade.
~I also make iced tea using the simple syrup.~ After tea has brewed use the simple syrup and sweeten to taste. Maybe 1/4 C. for a large pitcher. I store the leftover syrup in a jar in the refrigerator. It will last for several days.
