Watching one of Bobby Flay's TV brunch shows the other day, and he made a tea latte but did not give the recipe on the web site. Fortunately, my husband was watching with me, and he has been making me tea lattes ever since. What a nice treat in cool weather, and a real change from my 'usuals'.

Bobby used black tea, milk and honey. We use black tea, 2% milk and Splenda. Bobby barely steeps his tea as he does not like that 'tannic' flavor; neither do I, so my tea is weak, probably steeped only a minute or two. The low-fat milks froth well, but whole milk does not.

To give you an idea, and a delicious one that I found on the internet, here is a recipe with some quantities for a single serving. You need a milk frother for this preparation, but they're easy enough to find:

Norpro:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_hi_eb?rh=k%3Anorpro+milk+frother%2Cn%3A1055398&ie=UTF8&qid=1381014159...

Amazon also carries one by Bodum which is about $33.00; the Norpro is just over $12.00.

This is the recipe:

Earl Grey Tea Latte

3/4 c water

1 single-serving Earl Grey tea bag

1/2 c 1% milk

1 t sugar or agave nectar

Bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, pour it into a tea cup and add tea bag. Cover and step for 5 minutes.

One minute before tea is done steeping, add the milk to the frother and turn it on.

Remove the tea bag from the water and stir in the sugar. Spoon frothed milk on top and serve. Makes 1 latte
