Holy smokes, this is a difficult product to purchase locally...I have two local grocery stores to purchase from.  I have looked for weeks and it is never stocked.

Today, I looked on line and the bottles are really big.  Since I have not purchased before, anyone that has used this before do you have a brand that you really like?

I am using the product for a salad dressing ingredient.  Also, is it safe to freeze the product?  I only need a small amount.  My friend tried makeing her own but the results were not good.

thanks.

@Mom2Dogs

Gosh, I have been trying to find it forever as well!

A friend who lives elsewhere got a normal size at her Walmart, it was Heinz.  She really likes it.

I LOVE Tarragon and think I would as well, but like you, I can only find giant size online.

None of our stores (including Wally) have it on the shelves.

We have two fancy Oil & Vinegar stores and they don't carry it either!

You might want to look local.  We have a just vinegar store here.  To die for. They let you taste.  Even the grandkids are brave enough to sip.  Little bottles.

Re: Tarragon vinegar

[ Edited ]

@Mom2Dogs   I have used it for years.  I like the Heinz brand of tarragon vinegar, and got it in a regular supermarket, then in an upscale co-op/natural foods type market.  And once I had purchased it at a specialty farm type market on the Connecticut shoreline.

Since relocating to DC I wasn't able to find it locally so I ordered it online for home delivery from Walmart (this was pre-covid) and it is a brand called Roland.

The bottles run large, but vinegar keeps well in a dark cupboard away from heat.  My current Roland bottle is 1 litre.  I think it is more expensive because the base is white wine vinegar in which fresh tarragon sprigs are infused.

Hope this is helpful.

I had a hard time finding it but a local specialty food store often has it. Stock up when you find it.

@Sooner as I search on line the product is expensive and to have it shipped to me is more than the vinegar.  I will stop at my local market and ask if they can order it.  My recipe only calls for a couple of teaspoons.

Amazon has 12oz Heinz Tarragon vinegar, as well as other brands. A bit expensive, but available.

Just checked Wally again...

Heinz 12 oz  $23 outside vendor

or another has 2 bottles for $38

Amazon is only $9 for the 12 0z

Not sure if that is a good price or not....

I love all things tarragon!  I just checked the tarragon white wine vinegar in my cupboard.  I purchased it at my regular grocery store but it is not one of the big chains.  The brand is Beaufor.  It 16.75 fl oz.   It is from France.
