Sweet & Sour Sausage & Rice
12 ounces UNCOOKED sausage...cut into bite size pieces
1 cup sugar (OR LESS...add sugar slowly..to taste)
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple.....drained
hot cooked rice
In skillet, cook sausage til no longer pink. Set aside. Combine sugar, cornstarch, water and ketchup. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook for 2 minutes...or til thickened. Add pineapple and sausage. Heat through. Serve over hot cooked rice.

@LilBitMissty Thank you for posting your recipe. I had a question on the sausage though. What kind of sausage do you use? Something like kielbasa or more like breakfast links?

its magic...hi there. Actually, I have made it with both kinds . Just make sure its only about 12 ounces you use. It's kinda one of those "personal preferences" things ![]()

Thank you for the recipe! I had all the ingredients and so I made this for dinner last night.
I found it to be far too sweet for us, but DH liked it OK. He loves sausage and although I'm not a huge fan, I see that this could be used with chicken, shrimp, and pork. I plan to give it another go, but use HALF the sugar.
I like sweet/sour to be more tangy and less sweet.
Thank you for showing me how to make a simple sauce.
