SWEET AND SOUR RIBS

 

1 TABLESPOON OIL

3 POUNDS PORK RIBS

1 CUP TOMATO JUICE

3/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR

1/2 CUP WHITE VINEGAR

1 TABLESPOON SOY SAUCE

1 TABLESPOON CORNSTARCH

2 TABLESPOONS WATER

 

HEAT OIL IN A SKILLET ON MEDIUM HEAT. 

TRANSFER TO A ROASTING PAN.

PUT TOMATO JUICE, BROWN SUGAR, VINEGAR AND SOY SAUCE IN A SAUCE PAN.

BRING TO A BOIL.

STIR CORNSTARCH AND WATER TOGETHER IN A SMALL BOWL.

STIR INTO TOMATO JUICE MIXTURE UNTIL THICKENED.

POUR OVER RIBS.

COVER AND BAKE AT 350* FOR AN HOUR OR TIL RIBS ARE TENDER.

Respectlife... Hi sweetie. It is good to "see"  you! Hope all is well with you my friend. If you make this let me know. It was one of our family favorites. I would make it with mashed potatoes and green beans. Smiley Happy

Thanks for posting this recipe - it sounds like something my husband would really like and I can't wait to try it! Woman Happy

 

I do have one question though, what style pork ribs do you use? When I make ribs I usually use "regular" ribs (spareribs?), but I know Publix also has St Louis style, Baby back and Country style pork ribs. Wonder if one type would be better for this recipe?
