Something similar is called cowboy coffee too, and is made with eggs or whites.  To get the grounds out?

@Sooner

So funny how different parts of the country come up with different things! I know "cowboy coffee" as a cup of coffee that has a big ol' over-sized tablespoon of Sweetened Condensed Milk in it! To die for by the way! Learned that visiting my cousin's ranch in Colorado!

All the old timer Cowboys IKnow would think that way too sissified for them. I can't think of anything that that wouldn't improve though..  You could dress a salad and it would be Good!  Lol!

@Sooner So so funny! These cowboys would never be caught dead in a Starbucks! But hand them a spoon for this stuff and they gobble it up!

Heaven help me.....I could eat sweetened condensed milk with a spoon, right out of the can.....okay, I confess....I have!

I'm a member of the same club! There isn't a spoon big enough! Next thing will be a funnel to pour it right in!  Hope you try it in coffee! So sinful! Woman LOL

@Jacie

LOL! (as I'm digging around looking for a funnel!)

I always have a small jar in the fridge! It works perfectly! However, I'm  unable to answer how long it keeps there because, mine never lasts very long once it's opened! Sad but true!

Enjoy!

I make a hot fudge cake using a partial can of scmilk, so the remainder goes in the fridge

and will last there for several weeks.

I only know this because it got buried on the shelf and I forgot about it!

@IG@KingstonsMom

Would you share your cake recipe? It would go great with the Swedish Egg Coffee!

@Jacie

Sure! It's a really easy recipe with minimal ingredients!

It's so delish hot with ice cream on top! With leftovers, we put in the micro for 30 seconds or so and it's like it just came out of the oven!

DH is a total chocoholic and this is his favorite, I hope you enjoy it too!

Easy Fudgey Pudding Cake

Easy Fudgey Pudding Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose baking mix
  • 1/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk), divided
  • 3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Syrup, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • Whipped topping or ice cream (optional)

Directions:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 8-inch square baking pan.
  • 2. Combine baking mix and cocoa in medium bowl; stir in 1 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 cup syrup and vanilla until blended. Spoon evenly into prepared pan.
  • 3. Combine remaining sweetened condensed milk, remaining 1/2 cup syrup and water in small bowl. Pour liquid mixture carefully over top of mixture in pan; do not stir.
  • 4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set and cake begins to pull away from sides of pan. Let stand 10 minutes; spoon into dessert dishes, spooning pudding from bottom of pan over top. Serve warm; garnish with whipped topping, if desired. Cover; refrigerate leftover dessert.

Thanks to everyone for sharing these great recipes. So interesting, that egg coffee. One of the few ways I haven't tried coffee. Will have to give it a shot, I love smooth coffee.  And that cake, COME ON!! Sounds delish!

@Renata

It is sooooo good! The cake part is like a chewy brownie and the 'sauce' is like a thick hot fudge......so good it should be illegal, LOL!

Then you can eat any leftover sc milk with a spoon!

@Jacie and I sure would, LOL!

When my Dad was a boy of 14 he was taken from his mother because she was so poor they were starving and sent to the CCC camps (to build the national parks). He had his first in his life full meal in the CCC camp and they served them coffee with sweetened condensed milk - he drank his coffee that way for the rest of his life. When he was in a nursing home at the end iof his days I would bring in cans of sweet milk, as we called it, for his coffee.

Your easy fudgy pudding cake sounds delicious @KingstonsMom.  So glad you posted this recipe.  I'm going to make it for dessert tonight.  My husband and I will both love it, I'm sure!
