I'm having company this weekend and saw ready made crepes and thought I would try them since they would save time in the morning.  They look very pale, do I need to warm them?  What is the bet way if I need to?   I will fill them with strawberries.  Do I need a sauce?  This may have been a bad idea.

I've never seen pre-made crepes. Are they frozen?  Are there instructions on the package?

If I were filling them with strawberries, I'd clean and slice the berries and sugar them fairly heavily well in advance.  With enough time, the juice of the berries will blend with the sugar to make a nice 'sauce.'  Before serving, maybe drizzle a warm chocolate sauce over the filled/rolled crepes and top with whipped cream.

They were in the fruit section of the grocery store.  They are not frozen and have no instructions on the package other than saying "ready to use."  Thanks for your suggestion about the strawberries.

Have you ever made your own crepes?  They're not necessarily used   warm.  I'm thinking you'd be OK to use the store's straight out of the package.  If you have enough to spare, you could always taste one before using them.

I have not made crepes before, but they don't seem difficult.  I just don't dare to make them for company for my first time.  Guess what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow!

crepes are nothing more than thinner pancakes. Just thin down your pancake mix, on a hot large round non stick pan brushed lightly with oil,  pour in, rotate around to make a bigger pancake and cook just like a regular pancake. I make them often, nothing special. Just not too thick or not too thin (they get rubbery). They dont store well just like pancakes, those store bought are thin and rubbery!!

I have used them in the past, actually got mine at Costco.  The ones I bought were refrigerated and would break or crack if not heated a little.  They were very tasty and I used mine for desserts.  You could probably heat them briefly in a non stick skillet and perhaps brown them at the same time.  They may get tough if warmed too long.

I believe the ones I have seen/used are made by Freida's or Melisssa's and they DID need to be warmed slightly (think tortilla) in order to roll without cracking...

Its been a long time..

I usually mix softened cream cheese, marshmallow creme and orange liqueur, fill them ith that and then TOP with fruit...

I make them homemade a lot and freeze them separated by wax paper...
