Southern Cheese Straws
3 sticks of salted butter, softened.
1 pound of block Sharp Cheddar Cheese,shredded
1/2-1 t ground red pepper
4 cups all purpose flour
In a stand mixer, beat the butter, cheese and red pepper together, until blended.
Gradually add the flour, just until combined. Use a cookie press with a star disk. Make long pieces on a parchment lined cookie sheet. I used my Silpat mats. I filled the pans as full as I could, leaving a little room between each long piece. Bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes. Remove to a wire cooling rack. Store in an airtight container for 1 week if they last that long. Makes alot!!!
