Do you eat soups in the summer time?  So easy and love the leftovers!  I just made a pot of swiss chard/bean/orzo with pesto...and we have some leftover pizza from yesterday's bday party...

Not often in summer. One exception is tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. That's a meal I can throw together on busy days.

Just cold soups - vichyssoise, gazpacho and cucumber soup.  And a deli near me makes a terrific cold borsht.

@bargainsgirl - I love all kinds of soups too, whatever time of year it is.

In 2025 I started a thread here called "2025 Soup Challenge." I told myself I would make a new soup every Monday night. I did for a while, but I have a lot of evening meetings, and I stopped doing it.

Everyone posted some really good recipes. Check out the thread and see what you think! I'll be looking forward to seeing some of your recipes!  Smiley Happy

@bargainsgirl We eat the same thing year around.  I can't think of anything we eat only in one season.

If I waited until it cooled down I wouldn't have soup until after Thanksgiving. We eat soup any time of the year.

I like gazpacho and vichyssoise. I used to make my father a batch of gazpacho each summer he loved it.
I have not made it in eight years since his passing.

I did not grow up eating soup.  Matter of fact, I was in my 20's when I had my first soup, French Onion.  It was very good.

Currently, the only soup I eat is tomato w/saltines crumbled up in it.

My children never ate soup at home either.

Yes, I love and eat soups all year, all kinds. Easy to make, and to use up produce in ("kitchen sink" veggie soup), love the leftovers too...eat off it for days.

And call me weird, (wouldn't be the first time anyone's done that, lol) but in summer, certain soups...I'll eat the leftovers cold (like a chilled soup)...refreshing that way in summer. But I'm one who likes "cold" leftovers anyway.
