Birkin baby, I've never cooked with wine and don't have any in the house, so I wasn't sure what to do for that ingredient. By looking at the labels, I don't know the difference between a dry wine or any other. I appreciate any suggestions for a substitute or some guidance as to what brand of wine to buy.

I'm no wine drinker....gin girl,lol.I usually get some from my sister.She has a chardonnay open often.It's about an $8 bottle...toasted head is one brand I see.I saw consumer reports rated some trader joes 3 buck Chuck as a good white wine too.I bet lots of others here will know.I can't wait to try this recipe.

wildcat fan, I never forget the time that we lived thru Hurricane Opal in middle GA, and we were without electricity for over 7 days, and their were these power trucks from Ky, that came down to restore our electricity......Well, my ex and I were always at our condo during the TN, KY game, and I always pulled for TN, except during this time, I always pulled for KY, as they restored the electricity for us..........{#emotions_dlg.w00t} Your name always reminds me of this time.......{#emotions_dlg.blush}

You can always use chicken stock, or a Zinfandel, or a white table wine, or a Riesling for the recipe, or even a chablis..........{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

The strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf.......

This looks delicious, LoLa. I have all the ingredients, except I have whipped cream cheese. Does anyone know how much more of the whipped I'd have to use? Maybe DH and I will have dip for dinner, lol.

Oh my good lord! That sounds divine.

I could eat a whole batch of it right now,I'm SO hungry!

Shrimp Scampi is one of my favorite things and I have some shrimp in the freezer so I may make this very soon. Can't wait. Thanks for posting.

OMMMMMMG!! I can hardly believe this! I had shrimp scampi and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers at X-Mas dinner (sit-down) for 13 people. I would have a terrible uprising of my family members if I didn't have these every year.

And now I see this and I'm fairly drooling. I can make it this weekend for DH and myself and NOT HAVE TO SHARE IT!! I have everything on hand but the parsley, and I say to heck with that. We will live without it, and enjoy every single drop! Thanks for posting this. I LOVE YOU!!! AnneMary AND A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO!

I like to keep those small individual 4 pack bottles of white wine for cooking purposes.
I agree Birkin baby, Chuck from TJ's works well too. For cooking, any cheap wine is fine. {#emotions_dlg.laugh} That recipe sounds totally yummy! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

I'm allergic to sulfites in wine, so I sub with either chicken broth or organic white wine vinegar.

This recipe looks GREAT!
