I have one a year at McDonalds, same with eggnog shake. This one at least looks healthy. (meaning real food, not chemicals)

I believe you will get closer to the McDonald's original if you use regular mint extract rather than peppermint. Its a little milder.

No matter what recipe you use for the Shamrock shake, I always add a pinch of lime jello mix with the mint, tastes like the real thing.

I just made our annual trek to McDonalds this afternoon to get my DD a shamrock shake. I'm not a fan of peppermint, but I'm even less of a fan of McDonalds. Maybe next year I will buy some peppermint extract and make her a homemade shake.

I tried this for St. Patricks day. I thought it was great. The food coloring didn't change

it was just the color. I had some St. Paticks Stir straws with a Shamrock on top. I enjoyed.
