Selena+Chef series

[ Edited ]

I didn't think I'd like this show on Food Network, but I've watched a few episodes and really enjoy watching the chefs she has had over!  It's nice to see them teaching her a few kitchen tricks Smiley Happy

@Knit-Chick   I too happened upon this one night when it seemed nothing else was on the tv.  I like Selina in "Murders in the Building", so I continued to watch and liked her show.  She seems like a sweet person and not showy or pretentious.  The only thing I don't know is who is the blond that's always on with her?  Not the little girl (can't remember her name) because she's Selina's baby sister, but the adult that's on with her and always eating all the food before it's made.

@freakygirl  Thank you!  Never caught her name or who she was in relation to Selina.

@ciao_bella Her friend acts like the comic relief. I think she lives there too.

When Michael Symon was on, he inspired me to make homemade ricotta cavatelli.  He made it look so easy.  It wasn't that difficult, except when I cooked them yesterday they were a bit gloppy and way to dense.  Not sure what happened.  At least my tomato sauce was good and we had bread to go with that, LOL.

I saw the one with Michael Simon and the lobster dish.
Sorry but it was boring and just dumb. He did almost everything and she was grossed out by the lobsters- She is a nice young lady but she should not have a cooking show- Can't believe this is the best show FN can up with... (shaking head)-

I don't really think of it as her cooking show.  It's more of a holiday series where the chefs are doing the cooking/demonstrating.  I think it's fun, something different!

@Knit-Chick

I agree with you!  I knew who she was but I had no interest in her at all.  I knew her mostly for the fact that she had had a relationship with Beiber, who I do not care for at all.  Anyway, DH found this show. I guess it has been on quite some time but mostly was on Prime or something, which I don't have???  I've only seen about 4 episodes and mostly I think it is fun.  I especially loved the ones with Alex Guarnaschelli (sp?) and Michael Symon (sp?).  They were very entertaining.  Yes, her friend is always eating everything --- especially the cheese!!! I don't think she is acting like she is a chief or a cook but just trying to learn some things to be able to cook more and better.

@AngelPuppy1 Agreed - those were good episodes with Alexa and Michael.  I like how they took more of a 'teaching' role with her.  I learned a few things!

@ciao_bella - I agree about the other gal. They could remove her and it would be better - she's very distracting, imo.
