@twinsister....I have never heard the term 'chopped meat'....is that a cut of meat that you have ground up by the butcher at the grocery store?  If so what cut did you use?

Your recipe sounds very good.  For some reason I thought Salisbury Steak was with veggies.  Green pepper, tomatoes, onion.  That is what I remember.

I read this and was left craving it, so when I went grocery shopping today I picked up a Stouffer's Salisbury Steak with mac and cheese.  I do plan on making it, but I was just so late getting in from work and ended the day with our IT lady telling us that all USB drives have been banned from the facility due to some doing something inappropriate, but our direct boss failed to tell us or she felt it didn't apply to us because the IT lady wanted it done.  We use them multiple times a day to teach with.  Who is she kidding?  I just needed something quick and easy, but it was tasty.  Now to find a great recipe and do it.

My meat market sell them. And they are really good. My husband never knew that I didn't make them from scratch but he really likes them. And I used to buy City Chicken on wooden skewers they were really delicious. Check out your meatmarket. The frozen ones are good but laced with to much sodium. The meat market is my best go to when eating at home sometimes. Has he tried your cube steak idea ? I thought it strange that your husband would pick something not knowing if you had a recipe. Are You newly married ? I use brown gravy packets over the Salisbury Steaks , they have low sodium gravy packets.

I have just used my meatlof recipe but shaped them it patties and once browned add the brown gravy packet gravy , once it is prepared according to the packet, and add either fresh or canned mushroom, my opinion  I like canned buttons for a quicker meal.
