SUBSTITUTE FOR VEGETABLE OIL

in a brownie mix.  I don't have any and am in a pinch.  I have butter, olive oil, mayo???

 

Any suggestions?

@tends2dogs  Use melted butter...google for conversion for oil amt to teaspoons of butter...

 

NO oilive oil...it will give the brownies an odd flavor...LOL

@tends2dogs   Substitute an equal amount of mayonnaise for the vegetable oil that the boxed mix indicates.

I would use the olive oil. I have before in a brownie recipe and they came out great!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I have used Bertollis Light Olive Oil in cakes and brownies. Light doesn’t mean low calorie, it means less olive taste. It does not have the deep olive flavor of extra virgin olive oil. It worked great. Butter will work but you have to let it get very soft.
