Re: Quick Pot Sticker Soup

[ Edited ]

Hi @VaBelle35 I'm so glad you had a great time off and that you are organized for tomorrow.  I agree, that is a very wise thing to do.

I hear about the free weekends via the never ending AT&T commercials that run (they'll have a blurb at the end of the commercial about the upcoming free weekend).  Always be sure to start checking when the new season of Game of Thrones is going to launch, that is a guaranteed freebie weekend.  There are maybe 3-4 free weekends a year around here.

That's funny what you said about Martha Stewart, her outfit and her culinary students . . . I'm sorry I missed that one . . . Smiley Happy

eta:  And I thought of you this entire afternoon as I am still waiting for that enormous onion to cook in the crock pot.  That is the last time I make one that large that's for sure . . . oy.

@ChiliPepper I forgot to ask this morning, how is your car?  Good thoughts that it wasn't anything serious and that you are also feeling better and your headache is gone . . . Smiley Happy

@VaBelle35  I have DirecTV and on one of my menus there is a heading for Messages.  That's where my notices about upcoming Free HBO and Free Showtime weekends are posted.  There is one message for each freebie which also lists the channels included.  I don't get any commercials about it.  I haven't even checked the offerings this weekend, though.

Thanks.  I will poke around Comcast and see where I can find this out for my cable system.

I didn't know they still did free weekends.

My allergies feel better.  I took a naproxin today and made calendula tea.  I don't know if it was one or the other or a combination of both, but that definitely took care of whatever was going on.  I'm having another cup of tea just in case ;o)

Yesterday I tried everything I have on hand: neti pot, advil, tylenol, benedryl, my prescription nasal spray and allegra and nothing was working.

Well, my pretty Kitchenettes!

Now I sound like the wicked witch of the west!  LOL!

It has been a long but busy day. I didn't get half the stuff done I had planned but that is because other people kept interfering.   I wanted to get 6 geo mesh wreaths at least started; I got 2 started.  I did get the laundry done.  But tomorrow is another day!  Oh Scarlett!

I think we may have a Saturday that hasn't been promised to someone else-finally!  We are so far behind on projects here.  And tomorrow evening, I want to go to one of our favorite restaurants as I hear the chef is preparing morel mushroom recipes.  If you have never had a morel mushroom, you are missing out.  Easily more expensive than steak, at at least 20.00 per pound, my favorite way to eat them is lightly breaded and pan fried.  I really don't need anything else-no dipping sauce, ketchup, nothing.  For some reason, they are complimented with simple mashed potatoes.  This is morel season and since it has been so cool and we just got rain yesterday, I doubt the season lasts long and doubt there will be many of them found, which means the prices will be astronomical.   This is a photo of them "in the wild"

Ya got me twice with this post!

I have never heard of geo mesh wreaths OR morel mushrooms!

How interesting!

Where can @ChiliPepper and I sign up to try those mushrooms???

TEE HEE!

They sound like the expensive priced truffles I see on Chopped.

Do you think we could get tshirts printed up for us?  Maybe cool jackets like they had in the movie Grease for the pink ladies?

I used to listen to Dr. Joyce Meyer on the radio!  I loved her.  Haven't heard her for awhile and had no idea that anyone associated with eHarmony would appear on her show!  I was just so excited for mtc when I heard this on the news this morning!   Of course, I hope her bank job works out but thought this was such a good idea that it would take off some of the burden of looking for a job if someone else helped.  I met my DH thru match.com.  It would be wonderful if mtc found a job thru eHarmony if her bank job didn't work out!

Tell Mr. Writer that I think we should all go dancing one evening real soon!  Polish up those dancing shoes!  We are going to Lindy like tomorrow isn't coming!

LOL!

@mustang66lady

Great Idea!  I want a jacket!

OR maybe we can all get that logo tatooed!  Tee hee!

Now there's an idea!

I forgot but wanted to add to the "what to wear teal with" conversation.  One of the wreaths I am working on has a peacock theme.  Think or google the colors of a peacock feather-all of those go with teal!

Brilliant idea!  I guess I was okay with the color wheel I was wearing them with.  Just looked a little odd to me, but seeing the peacock feathers...looks good!

You guys were right...GREY !  Looked great!

However, I guess I won't fret too much on what goes with them.  They will be SHOW SHOES only!

So cool, so sassy, tons of compliments...but DANG...not the most comfortable!  LOL

They weren't very expensive and the WOW factor means I am keeping them.  But I sure am glad I didn't order more than one pair!

@momtochloe

@VaBelle35

DH gets an email alert that it is free 'something' weekend.

Between all the free wkends of the different channels (max, hbo, showtime, etc)

why on earth pay for those channels?  LOL

I only found a few things to record...and only one was new.  San Andreas,  GAG

A classic example of why I never PAY to go to the movies.  LOL

So ridiculous!  But DH loves the Rock even if the storyline and screen writing is horrible!  As long as things explode, he is happy!  Mildly entertaining but SO glad I didn't pay for it!

I recorded some of my favorite movies (OLD ones, that I can't believe they are still showing on a PREMIUM channels)

This way they won't have commercials!  I have most on DVD but who wants to get up in the middle of an insomnia night to find a DVD?  LOL

Now my stash of movies is on the TV permanently.

And besides...who remembers how to use that DVD player anyways!
