@ChiliPepper

What are you using for freezing storage?

I have not had good luck w/ zip lock type freezer bags and get a lot of freezer burn.

I was given a shrink wrapper and it works pretty good (low end model) but the bags are kinda expensive.

@RespectLife

I wrap mine in cellophane wrap & then a Zip-Lock freezer bag.

Seems to keep everything pretty good as long as I squeeze the air out & zip it TIGHT.

I have been thinking about a shrink wrapper too but I'm waiting for one that has reasonable, readily available bags.

We get ours from Amazon.  DD has prime so free shipping and comes in 2 days.

It works incredible as long the seal stays.  We have had some fail...may be us trying to be cheap and not leaving enough room in the bag.

I would probably upgrade it if this ever broke...

then again....

w/ DH retiring....I don't need to stock pile so much in the freezer anymore.

He will have ALL the time in the world to make repeated trips to the store once I decide what I feel like cooking...and buy it FRESH!

Training Day Four . . . the fun continues . . . Smiley Happy

Well the body count actually went up one (don't ask, I have no idea where she came from).

The morning was going rather quickly and then we had to take a test.  Less than half the people in the class passed.  So the trainer informed us she has never had such a low score on a test she has given.  EVER.

The solution to this was to show us the answers and then have us take the test again so we all got much better grades (but really didn't learn anything)

Then we had another lesson/test on another additional system.  They're not going to give you your score but if you passed you get to work in this additional system.  I actually think I would be a good fit for it as it is very customer focused but I know I didn't have the technical answsers on some of the questions.

The highlight of the day was courtesy of the test system being hosed so she worked on two or three live orders.  And they were all wrong.  And ot just a little, a lot.  Every.  Single.  One.

So I have a bit less anxiety about being on the phones tomorrow.

I'm glad I'm older and this rolls off my back.  The younger me would have eaten myself alive with anxiety by now . . .

Hope you all had a lovely day my friends!

Just a quick HI to say the Fabulous Yazzy and I are still around and okay, but it has been a circus complete with flying monkeys here.  I see I have 360+ posts to catch up on, so that will have to wait for a calmer day/week/month.....

Look forward to catching up on all the posts and on mtc's new job (YAY!, again).  A Tranquil Night to all.

@mtc

Another day under your belt. I guess they are going to throw you all into the water & hope you can swim. I feel with your attitude & determination that you will be great.

One call at a time, one customer at a time.

You will get those that totally already know what they want & just need you to get it for them. Then you will have those that want something & no idea what. Those people will need your guidance for sure & you will be GREAT with those people.

With your smarts, your friendly, helpful manner you are going to be awesome!!!!

Actually, I think someone else said it before, but in time YOU would be great as the trainer!!! And then, who knows what else!!!!!

Thank you so much my friend @ChiliPepper but to say this has been an ice bath in terms of how call centers train/work is an understatement.  As I said yesterday, these folks are the first line of defense in terms of customer retention and I am stunned at how unprepared they are sent out.

I just cannot tell you how shocked and disappointed I am at how rather unprepared folks are when they are launched on the public and no wonder why a person receives such spotty customer service.  I have always been kind to CS reps as they are clearly the buffer between the customer and problem but now I fully understand the conditions they work under.

I think the thing that really brought me down today was chatting with others in the class and hearing their daily struggles.  So many have (and I am not kidding) 4-5 jobs and never have a day off for a very long time.  EVER.

Good heavens what has happened to this country?

eta:  sorry to be such a downer.  I have been so lucky to always live on the sunny side of the street that this has been an experience I did not expect.

Wow, just wow! That is amazing. I guess I see now why you some times get a different answer every time you call a company.

So sad that people have to work several jobs just to get by.

Hello Kitchenettes,

I have no clue what is going on here-this is the first time I have  been here today and it is almost 9:30 p.m.   Too much going on here and will only get worse over the weekend but the weather is beautiful here today, the Cardinals won their game today, and the sky is filled with so many stars tonight, I want to sleep outside!

Honeybit,

I'm so happy you checked in!  I have been thinking about you and have had you in my prayers.

mtc,

I am also happy you are handling things so well at your training!   Well tomorrow is the real deal, isn't it?  Do you know if you are answering calls from all over the country or just in a certain area?  I may have to order flowers for myself to get a chance to talk to you for real!

Hope all is going well for everyone else and I sincerely apologize for not knowing.  As I said, this is the first time I have been here today and I am exhausted.  Hopefully I will have more time here tomorrow but I do have a pretty full day ahead.  I don't even want to think about the weekend!   Hope all sleep well and peacefullly and promise to catch up!
