How very interesting! Thank you for that link. I love learning new things! Although, I think I will pass on the Seaweed Salad recipe listed! LOL
I have had recipes that called for a dark soy sauce...which I have never found. I think the flavor of Tamari sounds much more balanced than soy!
Did you buy it in a grocery store or specialty store. I am sure Amazon has it....
Wegman's item search showed they carry Eden Tamari in the Nature's Marketplace section....that's the one I never go into! LOL It got one bad review saying too salty and they much preferred the San-J Organic Tamari like you use.
Dear Respect,
I have gotten my tamari at either Whole Foods (for sure) or Natural Grocers (maybe) or possibly Sprouts. I may have seen some at Krogers, as well, in their natural foods section, if I remember correctly. I get the low-sodium variety. A bottle lasts me a thousand years, so I am not sure that they still even make the low-sodium kind. If you are watching your salt, it can help.
I agree that Braggs (or other) liquid aminos simply do not taste as good as the San-J Tamari. I have a spray bottle of the Braggs stuff that I have had for years. I just forget to use it.

Dear mtc,
I had a mug with a drawing by Sandra Boynton on it that I used at work. I loved the caption on the front: "Don't Let the Turkeys Get You Down."
When I get exasperated with people's incompetence, meanness, stupidity, etc., I think of that mug and I smile and try not to let the "turkeys" get me down.

Mtc, you have been such an encouragement to me and to everyone on this forum. You are always so helpful and willing to research things for us and to share what you have discovered. I found out about Penzey's Spices from you and learned so many other things that you told us about.
Your sense of humor, kindness, and wisdom have blessed us all. I'll always be grateful to you.
Don't let the Turkeys get you down, my dear friend! Dust yourself off and soar, like the eagle you are, with all your Kitchenette Eagle Friends. Like cream (which you told me I can get at Trader Joes in a box on the regular shelf that I don't have to refrigerate), you will always rise to the top. Never forget that.
Your Kitchenette Friend,
Writer

Ooops! I guess I had my snark factor turned too high this morning. I see the moderators deleted an exchange over on Wellness.
I thought my comment "the air must be thin up there on that high horse" was one of my better lines.
I'll have to try to work it in somewhere else where the moderation is lighter. LOL

tee hee! Snark Factor! I love that! Gonna steal it!
I had a snark yesty too as I responded to a host bash thread that I should have just ignored. I wasn't mean or anything....just pointed out her hypocrisy a tad!
I don't like all the hosts either, but I am not about to start a thread tearing down how 'I' think another woman looks! Zeesh!
Build up people, don't tear down. Women can be so mean to each other!!
I, on the other hand...am always kind and joyous! YEAH, right! LOL

Sometimes, like Chandler Bing, I just can't help myself. LOL

I found the low sodium San J tamari on Amazon. I have it in my wish list for my next order. I prefer low sodium as well. I am on a mild blood pressure med. which helps keep my pressure normal. So I try to go low sodium as often as possible.
Plus, since doing so...I have noticed how much I dislike salty things...except Fritos!
Still love them! Smart enough NOT to buy them! LOL
I always ask DH..."Does this taste salty to you?" He says I am nuts.
I rarely use much salt to season when I cook and always spice things up w/ herbs etc. I love the blends that The Spice House has!
I must have the same blue Morton salt container since I got married...a thousand years ago!
