The one from Aldi's is really pretty and what a great price!

We have a built in electric fireplace downstairs.  The logs were kinda funny (fake looking) but it came w/ stones instead which makes it really modern, fits the room.

It throws some great heat or you can just do the same as yours, no heat, just ambiance.   Kinda like this one, but we use just the pretty crystal stones.

It changes colors which is cool.  It gets other pretty colors.Electric Fireplace Touchstone Sideline Recessed

@RespectLife  in my previous life when I was thinking I was going to remodel my mom's house, I invisioned a pass through fireplace between the kitchen and the living similar to this but powered by gas.  Guess it's a good thing I snapped up all those TSV's back in the day . . . Smiley Wink

@ChiliPepper  I don't remember that fireplace from Aldi, I wonder if they offered it around here or my senses finally learned to shut down when one pops up in an ad . . . Smiley Very Happy

@momtochloe

When you come to visit me....hee!...we have a gas pass through fireplace upstairs!

It is 2 sided....the sunroom on one, the great room on the other.

We went w/ electric downstairs cuz DH didn't feel like installing a gas line.

He could, he didn't feel like it!  LOL

Maybe 2019 ??? when Sis first got sick.

It's just a little portable thing but it does have the screen with the "fire" so you get the visual.

@RespectLife  oh gosh I didn't realize those electric fireplaces could be two sided.  How cool is that and so gorgeous (and I wouldn't have to pay for a gas line in my almost all electric house) . .. .😄👍

@momtochloe

That pumpkin could not be more perfect!   Do you know where I can purchase that?!  And the cake!   My Stang was buttercup yellow and a hardtop but if I could find a 64 1/2-68 red convertabile Stang with pony interior, I think it would have to be mine!

I had a quiet day that included a trip to the laundry mat, and SAM's!  Goodness, I'm not sure how anyone affords the laundry mat any longer!  But they have those super big boys which I need to wash comforters in so today was the day.  We were supposed to get to the phone store so I can trade in my "antique" ipnone since it will no longer be supported after December but we were kind of worn out after the SAM's visit so we are holding off on that fun until tomorrow.

To all the Kitchenettes-I'm so sorry I have been so absent but please know I think and pray for you all, all the time.  Life has become a challenge and I keep hoping things ease up but I think after the holidays, it will only ramp up.  Time will tell.  Hope you all are doing well and staying healthy.  If you have your Thanksgiving menus ready, why not share them?!

It's late for me - funny how I used to come wide awake about this time - so I have to be sure to check back in to see how Thanksgiving is progressing for everyone!  If you are trying a new recipe, let us know!  We stay pretty traditional at this meal-I don't venture far off the routine menu here; maybe a rogue dessert but even then, not usually as everyone seems too full to eat dessert and we can't be stuck with them all!

Wanted to share, our grandson just finished his last Freshman football game this week and his "banquet' which was a pizza party, he received his "letter."  We now have a letterman in our family-first one in about 12 years!   I'm so proud; he came from a 5 year old who could only speak a language he made up, to now taking all routine classes and advanced algebra and lettering in football.

@momtochloe,

Oh yes Gone!!!! Woman Tongue

@tiny 2

I'm so sorry to read this!  Hopefully you are alright and things will heal.  Please be careful!

Which home are you selling?  I don't seem to remember.  Just take care of yourself, please.

@mustang66lady, I am really sore and it is particularly painful at night.(ribs) I found some shapewear that I thought would help brace the area but it was too painful to put it on. No way!!!

I am going to sell the big house and move to "Little House on the Mountain. I will try to post a photo if I can figure it out. Sometimes I can do it and other times it does not work. I did post a photo of the beautiful view from my deck awhile back. I may buy a condo or something here (family pressure) due to rough weather, bears etc. Actually we did have great tragedy with storm Fred . 14 inches of rain washed homes away and 30 people were missing but now all have been found. There were 6 people found dead.  The last one was just found. All were from the Cruso community in Haywood county. There were landslides also. @Writer with Flair

@RespectLife, Thank you! How the little one doing with his burns?

@tiny 2

I'm just trying to catch up and realize this was written a while ago but am so sorry you had to endure all that pain!  YIKES!  Glad your home was spared and you have it to retreat to, bears and all.  Just take things one at a time.  Get yourself settled and give yourself some time to decide what you want-a condo or apartment or what.  It will reveal itself to you to do what you need.

     How is your grandson doing?  Has his school started? School started early in August here.

@Writer with Flair

Thank you my sweet friend!   He is doing above and beyond where we thought he might be at this point in life.  It has been such a struggle.  He's very sweet and has a soft heart for being such a big boy-6'1" and 230 pounds, he is a lot to deal with on the football field.  And he just turned 14 at the end of July.  Still growth ahead.
