@RespectLife wrote:Good morning!
We will continue to pray for dear Martha!
My sis is finally doing better, no spikes in fever at all yesty.
DH is doing okay, biggest thing now besides the cough is extreme body aches. Mostly upper body. He texted with his doc last night and he is going to switch it up with Advil and Tylenol. Still no fever! And didn't loss taste of smell.
However, my son and DIL tested positive yesty. Please pray for them, esp my DIL. She has asthma and we are concerned about that.
They are trying their best with a baby and child, to keep them safe.
Please also pray my daughter continues to be symptom free. Her test is on the 26th. As of yesty, still no issues.
May HE keep you all safe and healthy!!! Hugs!
Dear Respect,
Thanks for updating us on the Covid front with you and yours. I know this must be a very trying time for you. Rest assured that Mr. Writer and I are keeping you in our prayers.
What a relief that your sister finally is doing better and that your husband does not have a fever. We will continue to pray that the aches and coughing soon will be gone.
We were sorry to hear that your son and DIL tested positive. We pray that the Lord will especially protect your DIL since she has asthma and that He will keep their dear little ones safe and well.
Prayers will continue to go up for your daughter and her upcoming test on Saturday. We pray that she will get a good result and not get the virus at all.
And, of course, we will continue to pray for God's special protection for you that you never get the virus.
Here are some healing Scriptures that Dodie Osteen prayed when she had cancer. Think of them as your would as "medicine" and "take " them throughout the day.

Bless you both @Writer with Flair for the prayers!
Son and DIL now have fevers.
And if we can add another to the prayer list, poor Eddy we all send cards to is now positive. So far asymptomatic. He is in his 80s.
They are transferring him back to the facility where he started. All the covid cases are there. The last place you wanna be is in a Nursing home filled with covid patients.
The poor old guy is all alone. My heart aches for him.

Dear Respect,
I am so sorry to hear that your son and DIL have fevers and that Eddy has tested positive and has to move. Mr. Writer and I will continue to keep everyone in our prayers and add dear Eddy to our prayer list as well.

Good afternoon Kitchenett es, happy Wednesday to one and all!
Ugh, all this illness! @Writer with Flair I am glad your friend Martha seems to be having her symptoms addressed and has found some relief. Thank goodness her daughter can help care for her and still sending healing prayers her way. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@tiny 2 gosh you have some nuisances by you! Thank goodness for those video camera doorbell but good grief it's Christmas people. No stealing!!!! 😠
That's a great reminder about donations. My car still isn't running so I ordered groceries online and they were delivered yesterday. Everything went great but I'll have to see if you can donate online otherwise I'll find the closest food bank and see if I can work with them. One of the things I noticed since moving here is that there are zero collection boxes for donations like that which is too bad since it's a great way to remind people. Dunno. Kinda weird.
Things are ok here. The grocery store sent the nicest little pork roast so that'll be for Christmas and the side will be the sweet potatoes I meant to make for thanksgiving. It's super quiet here now that those people moved out. I am surprised by the amount of people that are out of town but I guess folks just aren't going to listen, sigh.
Sending good thoughts and healing prayers to one and all . . . 💓🙏💓🙏💓

mtc,
So glad to hear that you are well and that the grocery store can deliver things for you. I bet that pork roast will be delicious. Num-Num!
We made a Costco/Grocery Store run last Saturday and two USPS runs (to mail packages) a week ago Monday and Tuesday.
We plan to lay low for a long time since things, Covidwise, are reaching crisis proportions here in Texas. We had over 700 new cases a couple of days ago in our county and then over 900 ones a day or two later. These are the largest number we ever have had in our area. Dallas counties numbers are twice that.
We sympathize with you about your car trouble. One of our cars won't start, either. Mr. Writer thinks it's a dead battery. We still have one car that does work. If push comes to shove, there are two grocery stores (one with a pharmacy) within walking distance of our subdivision.
The stores had a good deal on oranges, so I am going to try peeling some, cutting them up, and freezing them (like the ones I used to be able to get at Costco a few months ago). We'll see how that goes.
I spiralized some summer squash and some zucchini and got that in the freezer. Costco always has nice ones year round. I also cut up yellow onions, red, green, orange, and yellow peppers and put them in quart size freezer bags. I use them for stir fries, etc. I also cut up and freeze cubed onions, red peppers, and green peppers and freeze them as well to add a bit of flavor here and there.
Thanks to Respect's suggestion, I have a whole lot of Green Giant bottled sliced mushrooms. They really work well in recipes and stay nice and fresh on the shelf.
Mtc, I really appreciate all your suggestions for things that I should purchase after I got my Instant Pot. The extra rings, non-stick pot, see-thru lid, etc. have really been so helpful. I have never used a small appliance so much in my life. Thanks to you and Respect for encourage me to take the "Instant Pot Plunge."
If I ever had to flee our house in an emergency and could only take a couple of kitchen things with me, I definitely would grab my Instant Pot, a little cheapo spiralizer from HSN, Cuisinart hand mixer (the mammoth Kitchen Aid counter model would just be too heavy and big), an amazing shredder a friend gave me, a good knife, and probably my Kitchenaid Emmersion Blender.
Continue to be well and safe, Dear Friend!

tiny 2,
I hope that you are feeling well these days. Is it getting close to the time when you will need to have another infusion?
How is the weather in North Carolina these days? When you mentioned those folks that have had to live in tents during the winter, my heart went out to them. I am so glad that people like you are trying to help them.
We heard about the death of a man we knew from our first neighborhood (when he was a young child). He grew up to be a fine Christian man with a wife and two small children. Eventually, he became a fireman. He was about to become a fire chief when he was driving back home from his work on a two-lane road. It was early in the morning and and a school bus driver lost control of the bus she was driving. It hit a station wagon, crossed the center lane, and then hit the young man's truck, pulling it into a ditch and finally landing on top of the truck cab--crushing it. Firemen from the young man's unit were the first responders and finally got him out of the truck after 45 minutes. Miraculously, he still was alive. He was in the hospital with his firemen friends taking turns keeping 24-hour prayer vigil with him. He died after a week. We were heartbroken to get this news.
How is your neighbor and her cats doing? Do the cats still come over for visits?

Hello K-Team
It's been a long time and I have no clue how many posts I am behind on but wanted to come here and wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Life has been busy and extreme. From August to current, I have lost 3 aunts, one uncle, and Brother Mustang. Actually 2 of the aunts passed earlier this year and no one notified me-I found out the week the third aunt passed about the other 2. Two were my Mother's sisters and none of that side of the family is very close. I also lost 2 older cousins. this past year as well. The only one that passed of covid was Brother Mustang - he passed on Dec. 1. I'm tired and drained. It's to the point I don't want to answer the phone any longer; at least not for a while.
I hope you all are healthy and staying covid free. Other than Brother Mustang, the only others in the immediate family that has had covid is our oldest DD's SO's 16 yr. old twins. They were pretty ill for 3 or 4 days and both complained of lingering symptoms-one still does not have her sense of taste returned and the other complains of lingering headache.
Weather here has been unusually warm but predictions for bad weather are lurking for the following week. I'm kind of looking forward to just shutting down and settling in for that long winter's nap that is heralded by the story.
I hope to be back here more often when things settle down. Please stay healthy. Have the best Christmas possible, even if you have to spend it alone this year. At least you are alive, probably healthy, have a roof over your head and plenty to eat. "Count your blessings; name them one by one"may be a line from a hymn but it really is one of the best tools on my belt. By actually doing the above, you begin to look up, instead of down. When you count all the things, big and small, you realize how blessed you are-that's a Merry Christmas. ![]()

Mustang,
It is good to hear from you, but so sad to learn of all the deaths in your family. It certainly is understandible that you would feel drained.
I am glad that you, your husband, and your grandson are all well. That is a real blessing.
Take it easy and know that Mr. Writer and I will be keeping you in our prayers.

Any info on that amazing shredder?
I have several but not the perfect one just to do some block cheese.
