I was thinking the same thing yesty when I was eating it! Half the recipe and serve it as a side dish for Thanksgiving! It is so different and I need something new! I was also thinking what else I might pop in there...what would you think of corn niblets in there? Any other ideas?
BTW- I did add the nutmeg like you suggested! It DEF belongs in there!! You were right!
Pineapple tidbits in Chili? Oh, I have got to try that! Thanks for the suggestion! I get sick of the same old, same old. Been experimenting with all kinds of 'chili' lately...thus the Texas Round Steak chili...adding chocolate, chick peas etc.

They got me w/ Addy & Sydney though....Parts of a washer? dryer?
Okay ladies, Lint is mine. You have to pick a different pup.
Excellent thoughts! Hmm...let me see if I can find anything that fits THIS next holiday and not St. Patty's Day!
I gotta say though....we part ways on the fungus! I LOVE mushrooms, ESP any appetizers!
@RespectLife I think both Adeleigh and Sydney were named perhaps in honor of the gentlemen that generously donated money to SDP in a visit there. Please know I have no idea where he actually lives, I just know he visited for a bit and was kind enough to donate two incredibly expensive and much needed appliances to them and maybe he was from Australia.
I have to say, it was a fun and almost magical time when he was there as he really joined in and contributed and I hope he comes back soon as he really was an asset to SDP (and not necessarily monetarily if that makes sense)!

Respect, oh don't get me wrong, I AM ALL OVER THE REUBEN APPETIZERS MY FRIEND!!! All printed out & ready to go in my notebook.
I don't consider corned beef a St. Patty's food at all, I am one of those that make it year round - love it that much!!!
Dang, I wanted Lint too! Can I at least be Auntie Chili???

I got this recipe in 2013...prolly someone from RS posted it. You gotta check out the pic though...these are so pretty! The pic is on my Word Doc. but dang....when I cut and paste...it doesn't come along for the ride!
Cranberry Feta Pinwheels - Appetizer (48)
looks festive for the upcoming holidays, especially, so I thought I'd share! This is from food.com, but there are other versions at other sites! (I know the recipe shows grams for some of the ingredients, but packages should show grams!)

• 1 (250 g) containers cream cheese spread
• 1 cup crumbled feta cheese

2. Divide and spread mixture evenly among tortillas.

@ChiliPepper @RespectLife you are both more than welcome to be Aunties but you have to realize you have to stand in line behind the other SDP mamas who are currently checking on each other's babies (and occasionally finding one of another litter mixed in with theirs).
The problem with having 4 litters within days of each other has hatched the problem of puppies escaping and joining their cousins . . . those volunteers certainly have their hands full! ![]()

I'm terribly sorry...I can't part with my Lint (LOLOLOL) but you ABSOLUTELY can be Auntie Chili to her! Every speckled gal needs an Auntie!
Oh no...it's all good....I did find some cranberry ideas when I searched my documents!
Well, 2 anyways that would qualify as appetizers! I must have 5000 bread/muffin recipes in my computer when I searched for 'cranberries'
If I ever do retire...I am just stealing this computer. It will be easier than trying to get all my recipes off of it!!
(I know, I know...you stick a stick into some where and copy them somehow. Then somehow magically transfer them to your own computer.
I don't want to learn. I will just steal the thing. It is old (like me) anyways. My boss won't even notice. He will just think I finally cleaned my desk)

Oh, this is an awesome one! Thanks for the reminder!
I made them last year & for the sauce I used cranberry sauce & orange marmalade - got the whole cranberry-orange thing going. Yum!!!!

@VaBelle35 wrote:Here is another thing I make all the time for me. I never make the cucumber cups, I just use sliced cucumber or seaweed crackers. It's basically a salmon mousse. You have to use a blender or food processor to chop up the cottage cheese otherwise it's lumpy.

@VaBelle35 your mention of seaweed crackers made me think of something that Martha Stewart said over the weekend during one of her PBS shows . . . she was demonstrating stuffed clams and said if you can get fresh seaweed to nest the stuffed clams into for presentation . . . and then I post a grilled cheese/bacon appetizer . . . no wonder PBS isn't exactly pounding on my door . . . and I'm pretty sure I'm not invited to her house for the holidays . . . . ![]()
