DH was certain he wanted a Temperpedic and I was pretty much sold on the Sleep Number after attending a home show and trying many different mattresses. When we got to the Sleep Number, I told the salesman to tell me why we should spend so much money on an air mattress and he did exactly that. I encourage you to visit a Sleep Number store if you have one near you or within comfortable driving distance. You have a 30 day trial period so you are not completely drawn in without a "get away" plan. While it does kind of feel like we are not sleeping together, it allows me to be restless without bothering him. He can raise the lower part of the bed and I am more likely to raise the top of my side. I like a firmer mattress than him. These beds are suppose to last about 20 years. The only thing I would do different is to purchase the model that warms your feet. If you live in an area that is warmer most of the year, you may not like this feature. I couldn't sleep with it on all night but some nights, it would be nice. Now DH says he wouldn't consider another bed. That's us, but I would try as many as possible before purchasing. I considered trying a Leggett and Platt from Costco because of the high ratings across the board but there was no trial period. Another reason I love our split king is if the time ever presented itself and we needed to sleep apart, the beds would be able to be placed in separate rooms. We purchased sheets from Sleep Number which entail a king size top sheet and two twin xl fitted sheets. When we purchase additional sheets, I think I will purchase two sets of twin xl sheet sets. That way we each will have a top sheet independent of the other. Hope this helps and if you have additionl questions, please ask.
Dear Mustang,
Thanks for taking the time to tell me about your Sleep Number bed. That is exactly the kind of information I am looking for. I especially appreciated the tips about the sheets. I would not have thought about getting twin set sheets so you both could have top sheets. Good idea!
I do want to clarify; we purchased our sheets from Sleep Number as well. Regular twin xl will fit but because we purchased the adjustable beds, they need a really deep pocket on the fitted sheets or they will pop off the corners as you raise and lower your bed. They sell sheets made for their bed but the split king will work with their split king sets which are Sleep Number twin xl fitted and one king size top sheet. Moving forward, I will purchase Sleep Number twin xl sets for the bed instead of the "split king" size. We are still using the king size cotton thermal blanket I purchased from HSN and the king size comforter also from HSN; neither are made for Sleep Number. Our bed made, looks like a king size bed. We also use our favorite pillows-DH has Joy Mangano pillows he likes and I have the Aldi's version of a My Pillow that I would fight over! Best pillow I have ever owned! Sleep Number does sell pillows, blankets, etc if interested. I did purchase their mattress pads for the same reason I bought their fitted sheets-regular ones would pop off in positioning your bed.
Dear Mustang,
Thanks for all that great information. I surely appreciate it. I would not have thought about needing a wider fitted sheet.
I am so glad that you mentioned the info about the pillows. We desperately need some new ones. I definitely will be on the lookout for some of the ALdi's ones. Have you seen them there very often? I'll also look at the Joy Mangano ones online.
Since we moved from North Carolina, I have been buying pillows at home outlets (unfortunately now closed), T. J. Maxx, and Marshalls. Those pillows seemed to be okay for a while but then either got flat and hard or did not provide enough support. We did find a foam one with and indentation in the middle which my husband really likes. Unfortunately, it is starting to get old. I put a zipper pillow cover on it before putting it in the pillow case, but it is starting to deteriorate inside the cover.
I surely appreciate your help.
I'm just now starting to catch up on what I have missed. The pillows we bought at Aldi's were almost a year ago-our Aldi's had closed for a remodel and I don't remember if it was in Feb. or Mar. but was one of those months. I have not seen an advertisement for them in the Aldi's ads but if I do, will let you know. I would like to purchase more for our spare bedroom bed. I think they are wonderful and for the price, a real steal!

It's after midnight and i am tired. I'm about 10 pages behind at this point and promise to catch up.
I do have a question-has anyone purchased from Wayfair? I am needing an area rug for our family room. Roscoe, our Yorkie is having severe problems with his hip joints. He has gone for 8 adequin (sp?) injections to help with the pain but is still having problems with his hind legs folding up on him. Other than the joint problem, he is in good health and I am NOT ready to say goodbye to him. We have hardwood floors and he has problems with them so I think an area rug would benefit him a lot. I have not dealt with Wayfair but have read wonderful reviews of their service. Any advice from you all with dealing with them? They have the perfect rug for what I am looking for.

@mustang66lady a few years ago I inadvertently bought a pillow from Wayfair via Amazon (it was before I realized you need to be careful about Amazon purchases if they are not fulfilled by them). The pillow is nice but it was not what was pictured (wrong color combination). I called their CS and was treated rather poorly (we can't display all color combinations) which didn't sit well with me as if you are offering something at least let folks know what color combinations to expect. Long story short, the pillow is fine (just not what I ordered but I still wish I received what I ordered). I have heard/read many nice things about Wayfair but for me they won't see my business again.
Again, my experience is a one and done so hopefully others have more positive experiences to share.

I have heard good reports from friends. I have not used them though. When my English Springer had similar problems I purchased a memory foam mattress and cut it into smaller squares and covered each one with a fleece like blanket that I could remove and wash. I had one of these in every room and she loved them.

Happy Wednesday K-Team!
I"m sorry your pillow was not what you were expecting. I did notice a remark on the rug I am interested in, that there is no photo in the size I am considering getting. I keep thinking why would it be different from the smaller ones? One of my daughters ordered a sofa from them and I think she was pleased with it but I really don't know anyone else who has dealt with them. I keep looking at rugs and have found some I like but at a much higher price. At least this one would be delivered to the front door, is less expensive and I'm not real concerned about a rug that will last forever-I'll get tired of it and want to replace it before it wears out anyway. But you know those red flags in your mind that pop up-I see a few.....
We have a springer spaniel as well-Buster. He lives up to his name. Roscoe is our Yorkie and is 13 years old. He has been healthy all his life but he started having hip problems this past fall and went downhill fast. All the dogs struggle at times with the hardwood floors but now I think it is a safety issue for Roscoe. Our family room really is for our "family"-DH, me and the 3 dogs. I have dog beds everywhere and Roscoe likes the orthotic one under the coffee table. They have blankets and each has their own seat on the sofa that they guard. Roscoe has a set of steps to get up on the sofa but here lately, he has given up getting on the sofa at all. Roscoe was "raised" by our previous lab, Joe. I look at Roscoe and see him and Joe in the backyard and Joe getting annoyed but protecting Roscoe if we scolded him. Roscoe would pick on Joe and n*i*p-*e*d at him and when Joe would have enough, up would come one of those big paws and gently hold Roscoe down until he settled himself. Roscoe would then find a nook or cranny in the way Joe would be laying down and Roscoe would snuggle up and they would take a nap.

Sorry I have been gone so long. I have a lot of catching up to do and will try to get that done soon. Mr. Mustang and I have been ill with something. We have been to the doctor several times and to urgent care as well. All kinds of medicine and more rest than we ever thought possible and we still are not over "it" but are finally starting to feel better. So over the next few days, will try to be a better friend here but please know you all have been on my heart and mind and in my prayers.
@mustang66ladyI'm glad to hear that you all are better. You have been missed.
Ditto that!

Mustang,
We haven't used Wayfair or know of any one who has. That being said, maybe you could Google them and see what their reviews look like. I know that they do carry at lot of different items so it might be helpful to see what the experiences were of people who ordered items similar to what you want to buy. Just a thought.

What a great idea! I bet that was comfortable. Very resourceful, Young Lady!
