So I ran to a couple of stores to grab some sale items before the crowds descend and I was surprised at how many people have not only decorated but have turned on their Christmas decorations. Well I guess that means I can bust out my holiday clings from Aldi which is great except one thing . . . I had those clings back at the house on the front storm door plus they were Santa's and candles and holly, things like that. Now I have the ones from Aldi that have words so that begs the question: Do I face the letters so I can read them or so my neighbors (who are a story down) can read them?
Tee hee, I am just kidding but it's just another lesson I have learned since moving. ![]()

mtc,
I have noticed that people in our area started decorating for Christmans shortly after October 31. We had some cold weather around that time, so maybe that put people in the Christmas mood.
I'm waiting for the year when folks start putting up Christmas decorations right after the Fourth of July.

Is that roses? It's really pretty.
I'm thinking it could transition to Valentines Day too maybe???

Personally, I think the early decorating (or lighting more) gets a little crazy.
I understand decorating early if you are in a bad weather area but I don't think you need to light Christmas lights so early. Wait until after Thanksgiving IMO.

@tiny 2 why yes my friend I have as the grey version is hanging on my front door! Seriously, it's a lovely wreath and I will have to wear blinders when I fly down the aisle on Wednesday to grab a set of these icicle lights:

It's their carved wooden roses wreaths that they usually have in the spring but I guess now are expanding into the holidays. The wreath is really pretty, I am so pleased with mine and if that color matches your decor could be on your door/wall year round.
OH NO, I just went to check for other colors and found this:
Sigh . . . now I'll have to be there when the doors open as this one needs to be at casa mtc . . . ![]()

I completely agree Chili. I used to have these enormous (like a foot high) old fashioned Christmas tree light bulbs that were on stakes so I had to get them into the ground before it froze (they were solar so I would cover up the solar panel so they wouldn't glow until after Thanksgiving and yes I was out there first thing Thanksgiving morning as I just loved those things). I was just so surprised to see so many houses blazing away this morning.
