@momtochloe

I think timing is everything in the Real Estate game!  You hit it perfect!  Construction flippers are looking for something now so they can redo and hit the market come early spring!

Your area is just a lovely place to live as well!

I'm concerned that I may miss that 'timing' since our build is behind...or more importantly...I won't hit the dollar mark I need to get into the new house!

It is what it is, right?  No use growing more greys over it.  It is in HIS hands and I will deal with whatever comes.  I am blessed that our home is paid for.  I don't have to worry about 2 mortgages and I can always get a 'Construction Mortgage' if need be.

So you think closings are taking about 8 weeks these days to complete?  Two months ?

@RespectLife I think my closing is quick as this is a cash offer and will more than wipe out my mortgage.  Hopefully it will also cover the price of the condo so it is a wash but my monthly expenses will drop to 1/4 of what they are now.  I now realize I should have done this years ago but as you said you can drive yourself crazy wondering about your timing or whatever.  I truly do believe that for folks like you that have lovely properties in good areas you will be fine and I know that was my saving grace in terms of location.  God is good my friend . . . Heart

Well, it sounds like a HUGE burden is being lifted off of you, not just financially but emotionally also.

While there are many, many great memories attached to that house, I'm sure there are some not so good ones too (your siblings).

It's time to start fresh, look forward. Move the sweet, pleasant, amazing memories of your folks & Chloe with you & leave the rest behind.

You are a wonderful person with a lot of living ahead of you & you deserve it my Friend!!!

Oh bless you @ChiliPepper for your kind words! . . . I still laugh when the realtor cautions me about the condos not being updated . . . and ya didn't notice how I have been living? . . . sigh, men . . . your words could not have rung truer Chili, fresh start (albeit with potential butcher block cabinets which please know is an upgrade from whatever the heck it is that is currently hanging in the kitchen) and once I get settled and find a job I can adopt a furball . . . squeee! . . . . I've been thinking about the blessing you are receiving and have to admit it is about the best news I have read in awhile.  I am trying to make some changes in my life too and so I started a couple of those today myself.

Have you ever looked at pinterest?  You don't have to make boards-I signed up but never make them.  But I love to browse recipes, decorating, makeup -just about anything you can think of.  You can be lost for hours!  I think you can find a decorating idea for any challenge to your new condo!  This will be fun, looking at ideas you come up with no matter where they come from!

And as I read emails this evening, I saw this and thought of you! ..............
