Soup Sisters -- I have a new motto taped to the top of my computer. It was the title of a book of Maxine cartoons in someone's book stash at the most recent library Book Sale:
OLDER, WISER, AND MORE ANNOYING
Truly a goal to strive for!

Tee hee, I think I already nailed this @Honeybit . . . and thanks for the recipe but actually @ChiliPepper found it (it was a korean beef bowl). I am waiting for my next appointment, too bad you can't schedule these things all at once and they could come in a bus or something . . . ![]()

Hey, has anyone ever found those refridgerated yaki-soba noodles???
@ChiliPepper if you're talking about those noodles that you have to rinse for about an hour, it's my understanding they are fishy smelling and rather gross. I was going to try them but steered clear myself . . . ![]()

Good evening Kitchenettes!
I'm so happy for you, mtc! Sounds like everything is falling into place for you. We have been busy here today and I was so excited to come here to see if you had time to post anything or not! I was expecting good news but didn't expect to see you have had an offer-your instincts are right!
Those onions sound like a mouthful of comfort food! But I almost sprayed my computer with tea reading about the food police! Do you think if we all lived near each other in your area, we would be like the women of Steel Magnolias? I kind of think we all have some of their strength and humor!
Oh Chili, I so hope you don't get anything but cold weather! It was sunny here today but cold. Kind of played with your mind-looks warm and sunny but oh, that wind has a ******. I did see two people at SAM's today with flip flops on and toes free to the breeze!

Oh thank you @mustang66lady. The last appointment just left so I am heading up for the night. I have one that I know of tomorrow. It would be nice if another party makes an offer but I'll take what I can get at this point. I'm not picky . . . have a good evening my friend and to all the lovely Kitchenettes! . . . ![]()

@Honeybit wrote:Speaking of romance, I think I am going to have a long and loving relationship with those little pearl onions. I finally remembered to look for them at the grocery store. I found a ten ounce mesh bag of the fresh ones first, then went to look for the frozen ones. I decided to experiment with the fresh ones first -- I figured I could always throw them away without much loss if they were too much of a pain to peel (hmmmm, new code, PTP ????).
There was a recipe on the bag for Roasted Balsamic Onions. It said to put them in boiling water for 30 seconds - CLICK. Peeling them really wasn't bad at all, although I can see it would be tedious to do enough for a family. I popped one in my mouth while I was peeling and thought they really didn't need any more cooking to be to my taste. I had some whipping cream in the fridge, so I just added some salt and a little bit of cornstarch to thicken instead of making a white sauce, and heated all together.
To quote RR -- YUMM-O! Mashed potatoes with those sweet creamy onions spooned on top........ (Alone they weren't half bad as Onion S-O-U-P either.)
Whatya think -- should I be Inclusive and post a recipe for Whipping Cream Onions in the Forum to entice the Food Police ???????
Frozen pearl onions are good enough for Ina, so they're good enough for me.
You are a better woman than I. I don't have the patience to peel those things.
