WM of all places. It was marked $ 10.00 from $24.99, but it rang up at $ 5.00!!!!

This is quite possibly right up there in the top 3 joys of shopping.  LOL

I LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS.

Good morning everyone

It occurred to me that someone asked a question a while back about my front door and if it didn't have a storm door.  It does not.  I could have had one added after the fact, like some owners, but I didn't.  It gets very hot inside the storm door with the glass in.  Many drilled huge holes to let the hot air out.  Others keep the screens in all year round.  I get afternoon direct sun, so the glue around the tiny windows oozes out and the rubber insulation warps.

It's not a pretty look.

@VaBelle35 I think that could have been me asking about storm doors as virtually everyone around here has one.  My house faces west and takes that brutal afternoon sun.  No damage to the storm door but the heat build up did impact the regular door so they guys that installed it said to make sure and open the regular door in order to let the heat out.

Good morning @ChiliPepper, got a quick question about that cube steak recipe . . . did you lay the cube steaks in the crock pot whole or did you cut them into . . . well . . . cubes?  Smiley Happy

Morning everyone!

Another gorgeous sunny hot day here!

@VaBelle35

Major bummer on those shoes!  They truly are cool looking!

Thank you so much for the Cuban pork recipe!  That marinade has me drooling!

I also grabbed a few other recipes from her site!!  Thanks!

@momtochloe  We have never had a storm door in this house.  The direct sun is at the back of our house all day.  Anyways...the puggle would just try to crash through it if we left the front door open.  No screen could w/stand the fury of a mad puggle!  And she is ALWAYS mad.

@ChiliPepper

I am in awe!  I can't wait to go shopping w/ you!  I am the Queen of paying Full Price!  LOL  What a bargain!  Although, I imagine you have to go INTO the store to find the bargains....drats...something I never do!  LOL

Howdy friends!!

My celebrity tomatoes came in fantastic!  I am SO enjoying them!  My favorite variety!  Wish I would have planted 2 containers.  Zucc and summer sq are succumbing to our drought.  Even though we have watered...only a couple grew.

I had my FIRST Meyer Lemon from my patio tree!  What a fantastic lemon!  Why doesn't Wegman's sell Meyer's???  WOW!  Seedless, juicy, meaty, less skin!!

I used it on top of my grilled seabass!

Only problem is...I only had one!  Two more are growing but they take 5-6 months!  I will never get a pie outta this tree!  LOL

I was going to ask you guys if you have ever baked your corn on the cob...and then I found a Corn on the Cob thread....this is what I posted there...

I have usually boiled my corn for 4 mins. only.  We also smoke it and/or grill it (with soaking etc etc.)

Saturday the 'Corn Stand' lady asked if I ever microwaved it or baked it.  She highly recommended both ways instead of boiling.

I baked it in the oven on a foil lined cookie sheet with the husks/silk still on.  No soaking etc...just as is!

350 degrees

She suggested 30 mins.  I like a bit more crunch and will decrease to 28 mins. or so next time.

After baking, cut the bottom end off.  The husks and silk just slide right off!  Wear a mitt though...hot!

Gracious!  Was it ever good and easy!  No butter or salt needed!!  Toss the foil in the trash and put the sheet away!

To be honest, I was very skeptical!  I come from a long line of VEGGIE BOILERS!!

But unless I am going to take the extra time to smoke it or grill it..I am BAKING from now on.

If you guys are interested, that thread had info on microwaving it too.

@momtochloe

Hi mtc, I put them in whole, on top of some sliced onions.

BTW, surprisingly, they were very bland. Even with the soup, they could of used some salt. Not sure what went wrong.

Oh @RespectLife this is perfect timing as I was going to go buy some corn tomorrow as it's the last day of the sale . . . thank you my friend!

And as for the fabulous Condi, she is just actively protecting her beloved family and homestead at (at times) an unfortunate decible level . . . please give both Condi and Petra and big hug and kiss from Auntie mtc . . . Smiley Happy
