Oh thanks @RespectLife, hey the car is 13 years old and has been a blessing to me so I have no complaints plus it could have failed in a much worse area/traffic situation so I consider myself very lucky.  Ya take what you get and make the best of it . . . Smiley Happy

Thank you again my friend and so glad your DH is feeling better!

Ok, so I am taking an informal poll . . . they had ears of corn for .33 a piece but when I looked at my receipt I saw I was charged .40 so off to CS I went.  They looked at me like I had two heads . . . I mean I know it's only 20 cents but it's the principal of the thing . . . or maybe I'm just cheap . . . Smiley Wink

@momtochloe

I'd look right back at that CS person and decide which one of us was wearing two heads--two not-very-good heads at that.

  My husband recently got less change back at McDonald's than he was entitled to......the arrogant cashier said to him, "Geez, it's only a nickel"  (as if nickels don't count).

My husband informed her  it was actually 40+ cents, loudly enough that the manager came over and gave him the correct amount.  That employee should have been fired--possibly because of embezzlement if she is pocketing  change that should be given to customers.  (I have a  suspicious mind.)

I get overcharged at the grocery store all the time because their computers haven't been updated  with the latest prices on some items.  You really have to watch those people and those receipts!  Stay vigilant!

Every day I go into 7-11 and get my $1.07 Big Gulp of glorious bad for me DPepsi.

EVERY day I give her either $1.10 or $1.25, $1.27 etc.

EVERY day she asks me if I want my change!  YES, I want my change!

Is that how she makes extra money?  LOL

I need that change for tomorrows pop!

@mustang66lady

On the 'storing berries' thread...you and Zhills mentioned you wash w/ vinegar.

The terrific, helpful article that @Zhills  attached listed white vinegar.

I was wondering if you do indeed use white vinegar.  I only clean with it!

I had a recent recipe for salad dressing that called for white vinegar that was so...ick...it went down the drain.

I know the article said rinse well, but do you really use white?

I don't wanna ruin my berries!

I was wondering if you use white WINE vinegar or apple cider vinegar?

Personally, I think I should soak my berries in HONEY BOURBON but I don't know if that would accomplish the task of them staying fresher, longer in the fridge!

Maybe I would eat them faster though!  LOL

TIA for your thoughts!

Oh thank you for this @novamc1 as my car was stranded next to a McDonald's so after waiting over an hour for the tow truck I waddled in for a diet soda which is 1.09.  I handed her 1.10 and she looked at me like "you want that penny?" and I of course assured her yes I do . . . Smiley Happy

I am an absolute certifiable lunatic when it comes to grocery receipts.  I don't leave the store without checking every item if for some reason I can't watch the scans themselves and I have caught plenty of what could have been expensive mistakes . . . . oy.

Exactly @RespectLife it isn't the change itself it's the principal of the thing!

It's almost enough to break me of my soda habit . . . well . . . almost . . . tee hee!  Smiley Happy

I'm back!  I have spent the morning and early afternoon doing laundry and pitting pie cherries.  Friends of ours who live on a farm, brought us a gallon container of pie cherries and it has been a long, juicy afternoon-I keep thinking I have the cherry juice wiped up, only to find more and it is all over me!  They also brought us two huge bags of broccoli from their garden so will be roasting that for supper tonight-YUM!

@momtochloe

Have you heard anymore about your car?  I have been thinking of you all day and was hoping when I came back here that there would be a post telling us what the mechanics found.  Must be something in the IL air=DH had his battery in his truck die Wednesday as he was calling on customers and vendors with his boss and yesterday, his tire kept losing air and ended up at NTB!  We don't have a Pep Boys near us so can't compare.  We are pleased with the service we get at NTB though.  Hoping for good news for you soon!  Heart
