@momtochloe, Thank you!  I have to get my IV today. I haven't had it since June so I am ready. They had to put some distance between that and the stomach/ esophagus  surgery. I am doing OK, still not eating solid food yet.(some mashed potatoes though)Woman LOL I am glad to be a year older!!!!Woman Very Happy

So @tiny 2 , sounds like you have had your hands full!  What kind of surgery did you have?  And how long before you can start eating something with a bit of heft as I don't believe you have any extra weight to spare! Smiley Sad

How are things going in your new place?  I know we haven't talked in so long so I know the upgrades you were having installed are completed, are you settling in there and enjoying those gorgeous views?

It sounds like you have a lot of plates spinning my friend, I hope you are able to grab a few minutes for yourself (away from the medical profession), relax and enjoy your special day (I know, easier said than done).  Hope your transfusion goes smoothly and you are able to rest up when you get home and enjoy a nice glass of . . . mashed potatoes.  Cheers my friend! Heart

@momtochloe, Things in the new place are great. I love it and it is so much easier to manage. I am behind on getting some things done due to being ill.

I had a massive hemorrhage during the move and not wanting to delay closing I called my SIL and told her to come while I tried to stop the bleeding and if I passed out to get me to the hospital and call this MD. I did manage to stop it.

When the move was done I called the MD and the labs showed that the bleeding was much worse that I thought. The MD was ranting in the hall. Da__n nurses they don't stop until they drop. Woman LOL

I had a large hiatal hernia and during a kidney stone situation several years ago the stomach went up into my chest. I refused the surgery at the time not wanting to risk complications that would leave me unable to take care of my husband. They put me on meds since I had bled a couple of times and that worked.

The procedure that was done is called a fundoplication but I had some other problems. When they got in they found that my stomach was very high in my chest pressing on both lungs,Cameron ulcers, colon had several complete twist and the hernia was much larger than expected so the 5 hour surgery was closer to 10 etc. I had lost about 38 lbs prior to the surgery and have lost some since though trying not to.(Wendy's Frosty)  My clothes are too big but leggings are working. I guess I will have to get some new clothes but will wait awhile. Sometimes this surgery can fail and they have to try again. WELL  NO JUST NOOOOO!!!!Woman Mad NOT!!!

@ChiliPepper, I am going to have to make these Eagles for the kids when they come for some time at the mountain house near Halloween. They are so cute. One year I made a sweet treat that looked like little  hamburgers. I think I got that one from Taste of Home magazine.

@tiny 2

I know!!! Aren't they the cutest???!!!

I have never seen anything like it!

Oh, I'll bet those little hamburgers were cute! I hope you took pictures.

@tiny 2  wait wut? . . . oh my goodness woman what is all this about?  Thank goodness you are on the mend (and yes God bless nurses!Heart).  You've been through so much and I get postponing your own treatment in order to ensure you could be there for your dear husband.  I am just glad your body held out until you could focus on yourself as it sounds like you cut it very close . . . Heart

Sigh.

I am glad you are settled in your new, lovely home.  You certainly have earned that after all you have been through (speaking of which, did that crazy lady that was supposed to be helping you organize your move finally leave you alone?).  You can't put a price on peace . . . Smiley Wink

Hope you are having a good start to the Labor Day weekend and are feeling better/stronger each day.  I so wish that and more for you my friend . . . Heart

Oh, I think the Patriotic eggs are adorable!!!

I’ve had dyed eggs before. When DD was younger & we dyed eggs for Easter, sometimes the dye would seep into the shell through minuscule cracks I suppose.

Tasted the same, you would never know they were accidentally dyed.
