So tell me, did anyone make any New Year's resolutions?   I normally do not; I hate it when I fail but this year, I am going to try to take one room at a time and get rid of any superfluous items.  It is so difficult going thru items of a lost loved one and I decided to try to attempt to get rid of what I can now.  That's a big bite and realize that it may take more than a year, but it is my goal.  DH has put a stake in the ground that he will retire in April; I know that since he made that declaration to our kids, he may not heed his statement.  I want to get ready for it no matter what.

Ok, anyone else want to fess up?!

Mustang,

"Lightening the load" always is a good thing, in my opinion.   Since we have been in the process of updating our house in anticipation of a move to something more energy efficient (and perhaps smaller), we are doing a lot of that sort of thing as well.  We have to do it eventually any way, so why not do it now to make a move easier?

I have some friends who moved at the end of the year.  Because of the demands of their work, they were not able to go through things and get rid of unnecessary items as much as they would have liked.  They now are having to evaluate and process things as they unpack instead of just putting them up.  Observing their frustration from a distance has reiterated the wisdom of your approach to do the culling before a move or other major life event.

Thanks for encouraging us and spurring us on to action.  As always, MUSTANG IS THE BEST!

Respect,

Today we are having your "White Beans and Mushrooms with Marinara Sauce" for lunch.   Mr. Writer and I like it so much that I started making enough to put some in the freezer when I make it.  Thanks for sharing that recipe with us.

Good Morning!

I am back to work now.  Gosh, how could so much stuff accumulate in two weeks?

The pitfalls of a single person office!  I am so far behind and answering the calls to pls be patient!  COVID!  I am working as fast as I can!!

DH has been back to work just a couple hrs a day.  He is still exhausted and his body aches all over.  He then sleeps most of the rest of the day.

DS & DIL are doing about the same.  Luckily, DS is working from home and the Army temporarily recused him from the Mission he was scheduled for starting today.

We are blessed and thankful especially for your support and prayers!

We are finally doing Christmas this Saturday!!!

@RespectLife  I am so glad to hear that you and your family are doing better. I woke up around 4:30 this morning and you and your family were the first thing on my mind. I'm relieved to hear your report. Thanks and Merry Christmas. I hope you have a great time!

It's kinda like having 2 Christmases....we had a quiet peaceful Christmas in our hearts on the 25th and now we get to have one with the grandkids and all the fixings!

@RespectLife

I'm so glad you are finally going to be able to celebrate Christmas with you family!  We celebrated Thanksgiving the weekend before the actual day this year with our family and it was a surprising joy!   I have always been a stickler of celebrating on the holiday-not necessarily at any given time, but on the holiday none the less.   He allowed me to see this year that I need to be more a willow than an oak.  We had a wonderful time and we didn't feel the pressure we normally do, celebrating on the actual day itself.  I pray the same peace and joy to you and your family this year!  Have a wonderful time and fill us with the details when it is over!

Happy Thursday

No NY resolutions here.  On a work call this week someone said they were going to try to dress for work every day.  LOL

I had to go into the office on Monday and I had to give a lot of thought to the shoes as I haven't had closed shoes on for more than a couple of hours since March.
