@mustang66lady    I am so sorry for your loss.  I echo everything said already, you were a wonderful sister and continue to be as you help your SIL navigate all the arrangements.

I'm keeping all of you in my prayers.

No snow here anymore.  It started as snow yesterday and was pretty for a while and then it just rained.  Today it was a beautiful sunny day and it's all melted now.  I never even had to think about looking for my shovel.

Looking at the weather channel and speaking to co-workers up north, the snow is pretty intense.  I saw Binghamton got 40" or something?  Crazy.

No cookie baking for me.  We aren't allowed to bring stuff into work and I"m not going into work, so no point in baking.

My tree is up and I hope I don't take it down before Christmas but I feel like it will come down on the 26th for sure.  LOL

Other than that, just busy with work and trying to remember what day it is.

Morning!

Exactly @VaBelle35  ...I THINK it is Friday but I still have to check every day!

I'm opposite though, I think I am leaving my Christmas decorations up til Spring!  LOL

It gives me such peace to sit by the fire and watch the lights.  I did have to invest my life savings in batteries though!  Every time I look, another thing isn't lighting up!

Anyone making something totally new for Christmas dinner?

I am making @momtochloe Brown Butter Carrots in the IP.

That's a new one for me...otherwise...same old...kids are dying for a gooey M&C

@momtochloe  Thank you. I can't go in stores but I am doing pick ups, deliveries and have someone to come for my items. When  grocery shopping please do pick up a can or 2 for donation. We had one family where the father had passed from the virus. Both had lost their jobs, new baby 3 months, and a 6 year old.

The mother was so distressed about not being able to give the 6 yr.old a Christmas. By the end of the day some young men had a Christmas tree with lights ornaments, another handled grocery and obtained a needs list and a Santa list.

I noticed that she had not requested one single thing for herself. NothingWoman Sad. I asked her if there was something she would like. She said yes. The things she wanted most were tampons, pads and she felt that 2 pair of panties would get her through the year. So I said ok but is there something special that you would like for Christmas? She said those things would be plenty special and a great relief to her.

There are many stories but after this one I absolutely crumbled. Please when you all are shopping just a little extra each time will make a difference.Heart

Respect,

Yes, I did get your email.  Thanks for sending it.  You always are so very thoughtful.

Enjoy your fireplace and Christmas lights.  Do you ever have Christmas music going in the background?  Our parents loved Johnny Mathis' Christmas album.  It just wouldn't be Christmas at our house without it (Like not watching the "White Christmas," "A Christmas Carol," "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol")  Over the years we've added Amy Grant's Christmas album and Mariah Carey's as well.

tiny 2,

God bless you for making such a difference in people's lives!  You have done so much to help that dear family.  I am sure that they are not the only ones you have assisted.

There are so many people who have been out of work for such a long time, are in the process of losing their houses or have been evicted from apartments, and who are sick and/or have lost loved ones.  There is so much need.

I strongly encourage people to see if they have Food Pantries in their area.  There is such a demand in our area.  There is tremendous "food insecurity" these days.

A church my friend attends started a promotion asking for people to donate a new, warm winter coat and a pair of new shoes for children.  There is such a need.  I am sure that there are other food and clothing drives in other areas.  I agree with you that people should try to help others in need.

VaBelle,

It was nice to hear from you.  Mr. Writer and I are working from home, so I am not doing any cookie baking to give to others.

I was able to find an American measurements version of one of the British royals' Christmas cookies recipes made with ground almonds, citrus rinds, egg whites, etc.  I think I can make this low carb by substituting Swerve fo the sugar.  I'll let you know how the recipe turns out.

Re: @Re: Quick Pot Sticker Soup

@Writer with Flair   Most people around here are using their leisure time to help out. We have people that have never been homeless in tents in parks. Some have been working to help get little heaters to them and food.

We also have little thugs going through neighborhoods and grabbing packages off porches and the ones that go around 3:30 in the morning trying to get into cars. Quite a few of the porch pirates have been caught because of the doorbell videos and cameras. They seem to be hitting the condo /townhome neighborhoods for the packages. They are not having much luck catching people doing the car break ins. Usually they try the door and if it is locked then they move on to the next house.

Please remember my friend, Martha in your prayers. She has had a lot of complications since her surgery and has been back in and out of the hospital a couple of times.

The pain has been horrible, her legs and feet have swollen a lot and her blood sugar (which has not been a problem prior before the surgery) has gotten really high for some reason.

@Writer with Flair   I was just wondering how your friend is doing and if she has received any explanation for these symptoms. I do hope there has been some healing and improvement for her. I will keep her in my prayers. I'm sorry I forgot to mention her in my last post.
