Good morning K-Team!

It's beautiful day here in St. Louis.  It will be warmer today than tomorrow and Thursday I guess we may be in for some pretty bad storms.

I still have ants but have not seen any yet this morning.  Have been busy with other things instead of cleaning in the kitchen as planned.  I had part of a crown break last evening as I brushed me teeth so had to call the dentist first thing.  When I finish this, I'm off to the store to buy a few things plus get some items for a funeral dinner tomorrow at our church.  I will see the dentist tomorrow morning.

@RespectLife

I didn't get any candles either although tempted!   DH calls my candle stash the "Candle Closet"!  I think if I could have gone to our local store and get them at that price, I may have gotten some but I didn't want to pay shipping and handling.  I just ordered from them recently and got a free 3 wick candle and free shipping and handling.  If I had not ordered then, probably would have ordered last night.

@momtochloe

You're too funny!   Eat those hotdogs and don't worry about anything!  If nothing else, throw some cloves, oranges and cinnamon sticks in a pot of water and simmer on your stove-instant air freshner!

@ChiliPepper

I think Brother Mustang knew Willie's birthday was close-he was in quite a mood yesterday as was my SIL.  I was at the nursing home almost 4 hours trying to get everyone calmed down.  I'm just praying that he will go to the doctor tomorrow to get this area on his nose looked at but yesterday when I left, he was on the fence about it.  That was as good as I could get things to be; when I went in, he said he wasn't going at all.

@VaBelle35

Hope your day works out well for you today and that you don't get stranded without a vehicle or taxi!

I'm off to Walmart - be back later!

Leg one of my taxi trip is over.

The local taxi service is now automated, so you get texts with confirmation, location and arrival time.  This bodes well for this afternoon.

My windows need to be measured again.  Apparently it's a 2 step process and I'm beyond annoyed that this wasn't explained to me up front.  Luckily he can come today while I'm here all day.

Hopefully he doesn't need too much of my attention as I have calls during the window he will be here.

I'm glad the taxi thing seems to be worked out for you but sorry for your window problems.  We had windows replaced about 8 years ago and I don't remember two visits to measure them but i could be wrong.   I do know it was a couple of days to replace all they replaced plus two doors and two storm doors.  Then the man who stained the wood trim came on another day about a week later.  What irked me was they let my lab out of the yard and I had to go find him.  He was black and it was a hot day.  He was exhausted when i found him.  Just lucky that I did.  Happy with the windows and doors and for the most part, happy with installation just not happy about the escape of the dog.  There were several people working on the windows and a full grown lab isn't exactly a teacup poodle!  I would think someone would have seen something.

And I have another

ATTENTION SHOPPERS

message- I found

ZIMA at Walmart today!  Infact, I was able to get a case!  There were more 6 packs than I saw there last year but not many more.  If you like it, you might want to venture to your local stores to see if you can find it.  We had been at Friar Tucks on Sunday and they didn't have it yet.

Bwahaha!  I so need to get the Zima.  I was just there on Sunday getting my hanging flowers for my front yard.

I have my car back now.  Second cab driver couldn't find the place to drop me off, his GPS sent him the wrong way (I think he put the number in wrong), but whatever.  I was a little stressed because I was trying to get back for a meeting and got back just in time.

Window man came while I was on another call and I think we're good there, too.

@VaBelle35

I just stumbled across the Zima by accident.  Our Walmart had it in an isle with seasonal foods/items.  Since we had been to Friar Tucks the day before and asked about it, I was surprised to find it today.  The distributor had told us he didn't think he would have it until mid to late May, maybe June.  Friar Tucks is a liquor chain store in IL and MO.  They usually have things I can't find in other storesl I was looking for a bottle of Aperol.  I figured they might get Zima before box stores and grocery stores.  Left with the bottle of Aperol and no Zima from there.  Wonder if they have it today?  Anyway, it is hot enough today, that an ice cold bottle would taste pretty good!

Glad the taxi thing worked out and also the window guy-hope you love your new windows when you get them!  We still love ours but it was moving a mountain getting DH on board that we needed these.  It took a solid year after installation before he stopped gripping about the cost and now says it was a good decision.

Whew @VaBelle35 !!  That is a lot going on today!!

I have to take my car in Thurs.  The bearings are no good and it is still under warranty.

As long as I don't drive more than 225 miles in the next 2 days.  They warned me if I go over the 36,000 they won't honor it.

I don't think I will go over that...have no plans other than work.  However, I also don't think they want to tangle w/ me over a couple miles.

It took them A WEEK to get me in!

We are borrowing my son's car.  DH is back to work PT and neither of us want to waste a day sitting around for car repairs.

mtc,

     What brand is this?  I got my new Bed Bath and Beyond catalog yesterday and guess what was on the front cover?  Yes.  Hair removal devices.  Respect already told me about her epilator, so I thought I'd ask you about your device.

@Writer with Flair

I buy the Panasonic from Amazon. Looks almost identical to this picture and is pink.

It is the best one I have tried.

Thanks for letting me know.  Do you happen to have the model number.  I did not see anything exactly like that.  Thanks for your help.

@ChiliPepper  I don't believe they sell the one that I had anymore and I agree with @RespectLife that Panasonic one looks like a very nice one.  If you go to Amazon and search TouchBeauty they have one that is similar to the old one I had.  There are also much cheaper versions which I imagine are knock offs and none of them have reviews so heaven knows what you may end up with.

mtc,

     Thanks for letting me know.

If I could ask you all for a favor.  A very good friend of mine who is truly one of the very best people I have ever been lucky enough to have in my life has just hit a very painful bump in the road of life as her daughter's fiance called off their wedding.  Please know the wedding was a few months out so they may recoup some of the costs but let's be honest that is not what is important right now.  This family has been through and will continue to go through many challenges in the coming weeks/months, to be honest many more than I am not sure I could personally take.  I was just hoping this would be a bright spot for them but I guess this is not to be.  I would very much appreciate it if you lovely ladies could lend a prayer or two in their direction as they are most deserving.  Thank you my friends . . . Heart

Dear mtc,

     I am so, so sorry for this heartbreaking development.  It doesn't help the situation now for me to say this, but I am glad she found out it was not the right thing to do BEFORE they got married.

     You can certainly count on my prayers.  I know this must hurt beyond belief.
