Hee YES @ChiliPepper , they finally showed up Wednesday and I had one for lunch yesterday. They are yummy, a nice balance of the proteins and the stuffing/cranberries. Of course now I have decided that maybe I'll take out a piece of pork for Thanksgiving . . . hee!

I'm going to smoke the sweet pots this year. Already tried it and it is so good!
dice them, coat in melted butter with honey and HONEY BOURBON! The smoke them!
I'm also going to add a cor n casserole from Carlsbad Cravings. Kinda similar to a Spoon Bread which I have made previously. Her recipe just amps it up a bit w/ a nice amount of cheese.
@RespectLife , well aside from the final protein decisions I have decided the sides will be:
So in other words, I have no idea what will actually come to pass but that's the target right now . . . ![]()
Oh and brussels sprouts . . . I seem to have quite a lot of them . . . sigh.

@RespectLife, Yes There has been a couple of snows up there. I have been victim of what must be the appliance poltergeist. Starting in August one of the air conditioners for the big house went out, then a couple of weeks later the mountain house dual system went out. I went up there to meet with the HVAC guys and luckily the main board that operated all of it was dead so they ordered and replaced it 4 days later. It ended up costing me $700 ,a fraction of what a new system would cost. The washing machine there had also flooded the kitchen. I had that fixed and recently it did it again when my brother was there but not as bad.
Back to the big house. The garage refrigerator died and a month later so did the indoor side by side. Now I have a little refrigerator (tiny) and the freezer. About a week ago the man that takes care of my property went to check on the mountain house and the refrigerator there had died and everything was rotted. He said it was so bad that he could not stand it so he got his wife to empty all the rotten food and they removed it from the house and placed it on the deck. I told him the bears would probably roll it down the mountain. He said he had doused it with bleach and it was still bad. I replaced it and the offensive thing was carried away and a new one is now in place.
Oh yes lets not forget the thermostats. With the weather being colder I went to put the nighttime temp down to 67 since I do not like sleeping hot. They were blank
It turned out to be a fuse on the main furnace. It was an easy fix. Thank goodness.
By now I am a little fed up. The house is almost packed however my family, friends and MD are having anxiety attacks over a permanent move to the mountain place since it it so rough at times with the snow, bears etc. I am currently in physical therapy after the broken ribs, crushed breast incident in the garage in late August. When everyone is of the same opinion then I think you have to give consideration to what you are planning. I made an offer on a townhouse and it was accepted this past Monday.

Oh my dear, dear @tiny 2 !
YIKES! Just one thing after another! Heavens! Revolt of the appliances is right!
I sure don't blame you for being fed up!
WOW, so a new plan is in action! Bless you, that is really good advice to give consideration to the thoughts of loved ones and friends. They seem to really have your best interests at heart.
A townhouse! Exciting! I hope the PT is helping ! It must be painful though.
Will you still keep the mountain house?
It does seem that things are moving in a good direction for you!
Hang in there!!!

Oh gosh @tiny 2 I am constantly stalking my appliances around here and now I know I need to take several seats as you have more than had your hands full! Good grief, I cannot believe what you have on your plate my friend . . . ![]()
It sounds like you have wrangled the appliances into submission and I hope the worst is behind you. I am thinking the townhouse is a replacement for the house you are selling and will supplement your mountain cabin? I am glad you have both as it will give you better access if/when you need some assistance like with your therapy or your monthly transfusions and you will be closer to family and friends.

Dip?????
Interesting......

Green Bean Casserole Dip
Makes approx. 1 quart of dip
In a skillet over high heat, melt the butter with the olive oil and add the shallots with a pinch of salt. Cook while stirring occasionally until the shallots are golden brown, about five minutes.
Add the chopped mushrooms and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until they’ve released most of their liquid, then add the green beans, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cover with a lid, reduce heat to medium, and allow the green beans to steam for 8-10 minutes, until the green beans are fully cooked with just a little bit of bite to them.
Remove the lid, then stir in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, just to get all the flavors to meld together. Put the mixture in a bowl, then cool completely.
