Is that roses? It's really pretty.

I'm thinking it could transition to Valentines Day too maybe???

Where are my glasses????

@ChiliPepper

It's their carved wooden roses wreaths that they usually have in the spring but I guess now are expanding into the holidays.  The wreath is really pretty, I am so pleased with mine and if that color matches your decor could be on your door/wall year round.

OH NO, I just went to check for other colors and found this:

Merry Moments Holiday Wood Curl Wreath View 4Sigh . . . now I'll have to be there when the doors open as this one needs to be at casa mtc . . . Smiley Very Happy

@momtochloe @ChiliPepper It was in our sneak peak ad for 11/27-12/3 2019. I was looking for the garlic butter. Alas I have an attention span of zilch right now and gave up. My family and folks are keeping me fed. I usually do Thanksgiving for our large group but my brother and SIL are doing it this year and they are coming to pick me up too.

Oh @tiny 2

How lovely!  You deserve it!  Rest, relax and let someone else do it this year!

I take it they live close to you?

Good morning @tiny 2 !  It's hard to find where Aldi puts their specials sometimes as I would have thought the garlic butter would have been in by the dairy products but I stumbled across it next to the meat counter . . . sigh.  I am so glad to hear you are being tended to as you deserve a helping hand includig your brother and SIL handling Thanksgiving including door-to-door service.  Heart

I think there is an Aldi across the street from the Trader Joe's I hope to get my Thanksgiving dinner from so hopefully I can grab that wreath and whatever form of turkey they have on hand.  Could be hot dog day on Thanksgiving at casa mtc . . . Smiley Happy

Thanks for letting us know how you are doing and that folks are lending a hand.  You are always in our hearts and in our prayers and I think a couple of them just got answered.  Take care my friend.  Heart

@tiny 2

@momtochloe

I think Aldi's secretly LOVES watching us wander for specials.

I got the Choc Creme de Menthe chips...no not in the baking aisle....but across from the shoes and sox on sale.

LOL!

In my 'work Aldi's, I found the butter just after the produce!

Personally, I think the early decorating (or lighting more) gets a little crazy.

I understand decorating early if you are in a bad weather area but I don't think you need to light Christmas lights so early. Wait until after Thanksgiving IMO.

Uh oh @ChiliPepper  @momtochloe

I always decorate 2 Saturdays b4 Thanksgiving !

That is usually my big 'guest' holiday and I like them to see the house all purdy!

The Sat b4 Thanksgiving is devoted to shopping, cleaning and early cooking so the previous Sat. is my best whack at 200 trips up and down the stairs!

Besides, Thanksgiving is late this year!  I decorate a lot...too much to leave up for only that short time.

I feel I earn bonus weeks since I don't decorate for any other holiday or season.  Right?

@RespectLife

@momtochloe

Ok, I stand corrected - somewhat!

I can see it if you are having company & I didn't think about Thanksgiving being late this year.

People on my street had theirs lit well before Halloween, I guess that was what was bugging me.

About lighting up before Christmas season should really begin.......

Several days ago, DH and I drove into the neighborhood after dark and saw that some elves had hung the lighted wreath and light strings in our community common area, and a few neighbors were fully decorated and shining brightly..

I was NOT about to be outdone so easily, so I hustled and put up my two 4-foot trees in the upper windows,  got them all decked out, and set the electric timers to turn them on after dusk..

We now have lights--every night through New Year's Day.

HAPPY LIT-UP THANKSGIVING (take those words any way you want to) and a MERRY HOLIDAY SEASON TO ALL THE

K-NETTES.!!!!!

And a Merry EVERYDAY to you too @novamc1 !

I might add that since DH isn't going up any ladders...outside I just put the wreath on the door yesty and have 2 small potted Pine trees (artificial) with white lights.

That's it.

The interior of my house, nor my Christmas tree can be seen from the street.  The 2 guest beds face the road and the blinds are drawn.

So only ME and my guests will see all the decorations and lights...and there are more and more every yr. it seems.

I got a bunch of those fairy lights on clearance last year!

Well Thanksgiving at casa mtc has been saved as the lovely folks at Trader Joe's helped me find one of their last Turkey en Croute dinners:

Turkey & Stuffing en Croute

Hot dog day is officially cancelled!  Smiley Wink

eta:  Forgot to add I also snagged a jar of their Blue Cheese Mustard which should go nicely with said turkey dinner and also the small ham I bought.  Review to follow shortly

Ladies,

It's great to read of your holiday plans.  @tiny 2 -I'm so happy to read your brother and SIL are taking care of plans this year and providing you a ride to boot!  You need the loving arms of family especially at this time.

@momtochloe

That turkey en croute looks wonderful!   Glad you found it!  I'm not sure I am reading correctly- did the blue cheese mustard come from Trader Joe's or Alid's?   Can't wait to read your review of that!

@RespectLife

I think it was smart to do the Christmas decorating as you did - DH's surgery would have prohibited you some decorating or should have if he behaved!   We have fall decorations and Thanksgiving pilgrims and turkeys out.  Was hoping to get the tree up but that didn't happen.  We won't decorate as we usually do since Christmas is just a day or two away or so it seems!

@ChiliPepper

So when does Chili Jr. get to  come home?   Hope you both have time to catch up with each other and enjoy that time together!

@novamc1

Girl you have got it going on!  Not being out done by anyone in the hood and have your Christmas up and lit is a lot.  Hope you and DH have a wonderful time.

@VaBelle35

We haven't heard from you in a while.  Hope things are ok and you are doing well.  I know you ordered your turkey; what else to you plan to serve?   Any other plans for the holiday?

@Honeybit

Hope you and TMFY have great plans for the holiday.  Is it still overly warm where you live?

@Writer with Flair

Are you and Mr. Writer staying home for the holiday or volunteering or visiting with others?   May your holiday be safe and you all well fed.

@tiny 2

I know this will be a difficult holiday season for you.  That's ok-take the time you need.  I pray that you find a way to honor your DH and feed your soul in the days ahead so that the holidays will take on a new meaning for you that does not contain so much sorrow.  It will take time-maybe a lot, but we are here for you.

Pray all who read this thread are blessed and warm this holiday season.  Heart

Dear tiny 2,

     I am glad that your brother and SIL will be picking you up and taking care of Thanksgiving.

     I agree with mtc that God has answered our prayers that God would send you just the right support you needed during this difficult time.
