     I am so glad that your leg is getting better.  It is good that the pain has gone.

     That special dressing mix sound great.  I cannot believe that Thanksgiving will be upon us in another month or so.  I ran across one bag of frozen turkey from last year in the freezer.  I had forgotten about it.

     This summer, we have had unusually warm temperatures for this time of year--fifteen degrees higher than usual in September.  I wish I could share some of it with you.

     We are supposed to get more seasonably cooler weather by next week.  I am so ready for fall.

Chili Pepper,

     The parents weekend thing sounds fun.  I'm glad you were able to go. 

     It sounds like Chili Jr. is adjusting well to college.

VaBelle,

     In the time that you have lived in the DC area, did you ever go to Mrs. Simpson's restaurant?  I had heard that it had closed.  I know you had been to Blackie's Steakhouse and thought that you might have been to Mrs. Simpsons.  The owners were great fans of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor (Wallis Simpson) and had all kinds of photos and other memorabilia in their restaurant.  The food was lovely. 

     I used to travel a lot on business to DC and enjoyed being in the area.  Mr. Writer used to come up for weekends and we would sightsee, shop, and go out to eat.  I loved Symms and Filene's Basement.  I think Filene's was bought out by Syms or Loehman's (or was it visa versa)?  I surely miss all those stores and the Talbots Clearance Centers.

     What does the hurricane season look like for your area?  Our friends on the coast of N.C. say it is supposed to be a bad one.

Any spare heat and humidity will be welcomed in Western NY my friends!  We are 50ish, damp, grey and wet...send it on up!!!

BUT HEY!

7-11 just reduced the price on my Fountain Diet Pepsi Big Gulp to 59 cents!

So am I thankful?  Oh you betcha!

Bonjour

I'm in Vancouver on vacation t the long weekend.  First vacation in quite a few years where I am traveling and not with relatives.  

The weather was supposed to be rainy here, but it hasn't rained yet and yesterday was beautiful.  They say its in the 50s but I arrived in shorts at 4pm yesterday and I was fine.  Everyone else is in fleece here.  LOL

It may be colder today standing out in the elements on tours so we'll see.  Full update when I return.
