Good morning @momtochloe  and K-Team!

Getting around this morning so i can make a visit with Brother Mustang and then I think I am going to have to visit Aldi's after all this week for cucumber for pasta salad and peanut butter for the dogs-I'm concerned if they don't get a little peanut butter in their kongs at night, they might revolt and chew our faces off while we sleep!  Well maybe not that violent but there could be a lot of crying and moaning and no one will get any sleep!

Only Hellmann's lists lemon juice as an ingredient.

Surely you can find Hellmann's where you live, no?

If not, what brand of mayo do you buy?

Oh NO mayo @novamc1

Born and raised on Miracle Whip only!

Kinda like the Coke vs. Pepsi debate!  LOL  (btw-PEPSI only)

What a beautiful sunny Friday so far...which means I should NOT be sitting at this desk in front of this computer!

Tiny 2,

I've been praying that you would have a little bit of a break from trying to get the correct tubing and other health supplies.

It must be about time for you to be getting some fall color out your way, too.  Has the North Carolina State Fair started yet?

Have you ever been to "The Irregardless" or "Bali Hai" restaurants in Raleigh?  We used to enjoy going to both when we lived in the area.

@Writer with Flair, My apologies for taking so long to answer this. I intended to then got busy and forgot. It came to me last night.

The NC State Fair starts Oct. 17th. It is still hot here so hopefully by that time things will be more Fall like. I have a lot of trees that are turning already and some are just drying and falling.

I have been to Irregardless. It burned down and was rebuilt. The owner did much charitable work during the 9 months while the building was going on. He was given some type of award.

I never made it to Bal Hai. It burned down and was not rebuilt but there are a couple nearby. There is a new food truck that is doing the same food. Recently food trucks have become very popular here. I think this is something that was done up north for a long time but since we did without here it is very exciting for some. I am a sit down, multi course with nice bottle of wine kinda gal.Woman Very Happy

tiny 2,

I heard from a friend from elementary school who lives in Raleigh that there is another Bali Hai in Durham.  The dear little lady who ran it  has retired, so her son (Isaiah? Jacob? I cannot remember.) is running it now.

My husband and I ate at The Irregardless often when we lived in Raleigh.  We used to know the owner (Arthur Gordon) and his brother, Sanford, back in the day.  His mother used to man the register and was an absolute hoot.  She has long since passed.  When we first started eating there, Arthur was married to a lady doctor.  Mrs. Gordon said that Arthur must have been listening when she told her daughter, "Marry a doctor and learn how to cook."

After the Irregardless burned down, Arthur kept everyone on the payroll until the restaurant could be rebuilt.  All that he asked was that the employees do a certain amount of volunteer work in the community  each week until the restaurant could reopen.

Arthur wrote a great little cookbook called "The Irregardless Cooks."  You may be able to find one on Amazon.
