As I cruise through Twitter I sometimes stumble upon Tweets that remind me of the moments I may have missed in not having children:
4 yr old says they want to be a giganotosaurous or T. rex for Halloween and the 2 year old “can be an onion”.

@ChiliPepper wrote:So, DD helped me color my hair tonight. My hair has gotten so much darker as I get older.
And then there is the grey - oy - its been a rough couple of years - the grey is getting bad LOL!
It’s hard to tell (it’s still partly wet), seems to have covered some of it - maybe not all of it. I’ll be able to tell better in the morning.
This was Revlon Color Silk, any recommendations on a better grey-covering brand for next time?
One of my close friends is my stylist. I remember going to her salon one day and asking what was wrong. I woke up feeling great, then went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and washed my face only to wonder who that old woman was staring back at me in the mirror! I decided it was my hair. My friend brought out that big cardboard of hair clippings of every color of hair imaginable. She said to me to pick out the color I thought my hair was. I did, and to my chagrin, she pointed out a much darker color. I told her my hair has never been that dark. She told me, that I had "lost" my natural blonds and reds (I'm a brunette) and all that was left was the darker colors. She then added insult to injury and said it meant my body chemistry was signalling to my hair cells to turn gray! Now I was ok with this but not the color that it was. I kept hoping I would go to sleep and wake up gray, or silver or white. I have a lot of thick, long hair and no one explained to me nor was I smart enough to figure out that the gray/silver/white would grow back in, one slow hair at a time! Talk about painful. So we worked out a plan where she colored my hair a medium brown and put lighter highlights in my hair. That worked for awhile but as I have stated before, I don't have the salon gene to have my hair fussed over or nails done or anything salon like done to me. So I started coloring my hair myself. After the knee replacement last year, I found myself in a strange place; I couldn't stand long enough to color my hair nor could I sit long enough for my friend to color it at the salon. I kind of decided to let it grow out to it's natural color. My friend suggested many ways to let that happen and so far, none of her wonderful suggestions have set well with me. I am kind of thinking I am going back to having her do highlights again. But I am using Olia hair color right now because it does not contain amonia or bleach in it. It lasts about 4-6 weeks in my hair depending how often I wash it. I do try to shampoo only once a week and condition wash another time or two before the next wash. This saves on washing the hair color out of my hair and fading. You may have to play with hair colors for awhile and if nothing else, go to a good salon and enlist their suggestions and continue on as they suggest. I never worry about coloring every gray hair; I'm 62=women my age have gray hairs! I think it might look a tad more natural that way. Whatever you decide is the right answer for you!

ooo...hot sauce and capers! Great idea, thanks! I have to try that sometime on just some of them, capers would never fly w/ the kids but I love them!
Do you think they would notice if you dice or mince the capers up? Do they not like the look of capers or the taste of them? I really don't think they taste a lot different than olives.

Oh yes, I forgot to add that I do put mustard in the eggs. DS esp. loves yellow mustard. I would prefer one w/ heat...but you know my fussy kids!
I got to remember to top them next time with bacon. I buy the Aldi's real bacon bits in the pouch to top things (Hormel type). Thanks for the reminder! EVERYONE loves bacon!
Oh YESSSS! How could I forget bacon and mustard?! I use those sometimes, too. Really it is kind of what do you need to use up in the fridge sometimes that goes in the deviled eggs!

To be honest, most of the guys that work here are between 20 & 25 years old.
Yeah, so? Tee hee!

Food for thought- at least this way you could raise them to be the man of your dreams! Just sayin'.......

OHHHH Chili! What a day! I remember those days-so filled with emotion. You have done a WONDERFUL job raising her. She could not have had a better mother. I'm so happy for you both. Wish we all could have been there sitting with you as she walked across the stage. She would have had her own cheering section. Please tell her that her "other " mothers are so very proud of her, and you. ![]()
