@VaBelle35 I am so glad to hear you had a good night's rest, that is excellent news.  Hopefully you'll be pretty much home free after they remove the tape and gauze and judging by the weather in your area for the next couple of days staying inside and resting is not going to be an issue.

As for ear piercing, I win the weenie award . . . my mom had to drag me there (and I was in my mid 20's at this point) . . . I just didn't want to get it done but the young fashinista in me really wanted to wear pierced earrtings . . . smh.

We have been dark and cloudy all day and windy earlier in the day thru early afternoon.  I think we may have this thru Saturday before it clears up.  Hope you are enjoying this cooler weather and break from running the a.c.!  What's cookin' at your house today?

Hi @mustang66lady yes it's just going to be dreary, coolish and rainy all weekend including Sunday.  We had one night that dipped into the 50's and I was a happy camper but I'll happily take this weather too . . . Smiley Happy

As for cooking, I have been doing absolutely no cooking whatsoever but I had yet another internet outage this morning so I will be switching back to AT&T today.  What made me so angry is that I decided to make Paula Deen's corn casserole and wanted to double check the recipe and couldn't . . . grrrrrrr.  I also grabbed a small pack of bone in chicken thighs I found in the freezer so I think I'll make my favorite chicken today too.

How're things by you, how are you feeling my friend?

I'm so sorry you are still having problems with your internet!  I would love to return to AT&T but DH "bundled" our internet, cable, and phone thru Charter.  I want the phone thru AT&T.  That way if there is a power outage, I would still have a landline but bundled with Charter, when the power goes, so does the phone.  Plus with AT&T, you can have something called Privacy Manager placed on your phone.  It used to cost about 10.00 a month but no call came thru except those you want.  It was so quiet in the house and every time the phone rang, I knew it was someone who wanted/needed to talk to me, not some organization soliciting funds, political call, or robo call.  Worth every penny.

Is this the recipe you were looking for?

Ingredients

    •
1 (15 1/4-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
    •
      1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn
    •
1 (8-ounce) package corn muffin mix (recommended: Jiffy)
    •
      1 cup sour cream
    •
      1/2 stick butter, melted
    •
      1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cans of corn, corn muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Pour into a greased 9 by 13-inch casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with Cheddar. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let stand for at least 5 minutes and then serve warm.

@mustang66lady oh thank you so much for the recipe but it is happily cooling on the counter as we speak . . . next up, glazed carrots!

I think it is terrible that when I switched from AT&T the first time Comcast never mentioned that pesky if your power goes out so does your phone especially since I was so adamant about having that service.  Why I crawled back into bed with them I still don't know as this streaming business has been a disaster for me.  I'll just pay the internet/cable fee and be done with it.  I don't even care that it's a two year contract as where else am I going to go?

And again, someone (maybe you or @Writer with Flair?) wanted an update on streaming?  For me, it's a no.  I like flipping around, bouncing between channels and it drives the streaming devices nuts and I have to reset them at least once a day plus now Comcast is charging for data (right now they are giving folks a generous amount but for someone like me that has a TV on pretty much literally all day I know I will go over the allotted amount).  Plus I don't want that overage hanging over my head the last week of the month.

For those that don't have a tv on 24/7, it may be an option plus you probably don't flip around nearly as bad as I do (I find Roku to be much more stable that Amazon's Fire TV at least for Playstation Vue which is where I was streaming my package of "cable" channels).  Cable is just a better option for me but I am also glad I hooked up those antennas as when I do occasionally lose cable (not nearly as the issues I have with streaming) I have a few additional options.

Are you snuggling under your blanket with your furbaby yet?!  It looks nasty outside but it isn't too bad-yet!  My furbabies would disagree though-it's cloudy so they think they should be inside!  I had to bring them in early yesterday as a coyote has decided to stalk them.  Hadn't seen one since last year but he's back-explains why we haven't seen too many deer lately.

YIKES!  @mustang66lady

We gots those coyotes too!  We border thick woods with a large golf course on the other side.  DH said they just cruise across the greens and defy the golfers!

You can't even shoot them!  LOL

Sometimes they are so loud, I swear they are swimming in our pool.

@ChiliPepper I really enjoy it.  I don't make it often as it makes a lot but it popped into my head over night and I knew I had the ingredients so I threw it together.  I think I may also try it minus the Jiffy mix and trying throwing eggs in there and making it a custard . . . hmmmmm . . . Smiley Happy

I love corn so whatever recipes I can find (especially casseroles) work for me.

@mustang66lady

I have that exact recipe posted by someone on RS a long time ago.

They called it Spoon Bread (and it was not listed as a Paula Deen recipe)

It is exactly the same, though.

I think Spoon bread is a slightly better name.  I wouldn't consider it a 'casserole' at all!  And we cut it with a knife, not spooned it out!

If this is the recipe @momtochloe  was thinking of...IMHO...it is a very moist Cornbread!

Cut brownie sized pieces and serve as a side.
